I have a history of depression with some suicide attempts (not very good ones!). After DD I was watched carefully with extra visits, and they thought I didn't get it, looking back I obviously was depressed but I'm a high functioning depressive and hide it well.

Winter is my worst time (hence why I'm feeling so awful now) and I think that having a baby during a period of the year when I tend to want to kill myself, would just tip me over the edge.

DD was high summer and I still got depressed, so imagine how much worse it would be in winter.

I can;t risk it. My DD needs a living mummy, not a dead one.

I really hope it works for you this cycle then.

I hate the winter, I sometimes wonder if I have that SAD. DH thinks Im just a hypochondriac but I honestly find the dark days make me feel really bad. I remember one morning at work in around late October time, it was a very dark morning, raining, my boss walked past without even saying hello, I was sat at my desk and just felt like bursting into tears looking out the window. I know i wouldnt have felt like that in the summer. Im also obsessed with getting outside in the evenings in the late summer before it starts to get dark again, I drive DH mad because I go crazy at him if he wants to do something like watch tv or something when its nice outside because I feel like were wasting time, before the winter dawns on us. Today at 5pm I looked out the window and I was SO happy it wasnt dark yet. Bring on spring!

So although Im not clinically depressed I can totally see why it being winter could push you over the edge.

Now Im thinking about it - do you think that possibly, you always ovulate a bit later in your cycle than you thought you did as you havent used opks before? Just a thought as Im sure I remember you saying something about it always took quite a while for you after ov to get a positive on a pregnancy test? Maybe you just ovulated later than you thought? And in which case perhaps you are about to in the next couple of days?

I guess I have to hope that, but so far we have not BD and I have no EWCM which I do usually have. I usually count first day of EWCM as OV.

For me EWCM seems to come anything up to 6 days before:eek:Looking quickly at my FF chart, it seems to regularly come at about 2 days before though, but 3-4 is also normal for me. Hence why I use opks! But apart from one ridiculous cycle I had, I do always ovulate fairly soon after I get it.

    Evening all !

Doctors out here are a nightmare too, even if i make an appointment i still end up waiting forever in the waiting room. Last time i got my revenge though as i had a sickness bug and was sick in the sink in his office, he kept me waiting so long, i had held it in for an hour in the waiting room. His fault, he totally should have let me in before the other patients who didn't look sick at all whilst i was green and shaky.

Has anyone heard from QQ?? Hope she's ok :(

Afm - had 2 strong lines on opks 2 days in a row so we dtd last night, and will dtd again tonight, then hopefully tomorrow, but during the week we're both too knackered most of the time, think i will hav ovd today or tomorrow though, feeling achey.

    Hugs to you all :)

  • Skint - *Hugs* I have no advice to give, but as someone who's suffered from depression in the past I can in part relate to what your going through and know sometimes just being able to talk to people can help.

AF has definitely gone now so just waiting to OV again. Told hubby we have to DTD more often this month and he just grinned and said no problem lol lets see if he still feels that way by the end of the month!

Could you add me to to operation valentine list as I should be OVing around valentines

TMI warning. This post is about cm so if that grosses you out, please feel free to skip.

Really need to trust my body and stop thinking "oh ewcm, must bd" at the first sign of any. Cause all that's happened is DH is worn out and refusing to BD anymore and I have loads of ewcm and haven't ovd yet. This is the best ewcm I've had since I came off the pill. Grrr.
