an9177 - don't worry, I think it's hugely common for women to go one a few benders before they even know they are pregnant. I got hammered at my work Xmas part and smoked a load of fags too..it happens.

The baby doesn't begin feeding from the placenta till about 10 weeks, so don't worry.

Just look after yourself from now.

Thanks guys. With my first I wasn't trying and had a cocktail party three days before I found out I was pg and he turned out fine so maybe we'll be ok! I think I'm just petrified of miscarrying, but I know there's not a lot I can do about that and that most are due to chromosomal probs which no one can help. I know a few friends who've miscarried (most have gone on to have a successful pregnancy) so keep thinking it's my turn next.

Think I will stay on this board until I'm sure it's not a chem, maybe wait a week or so before graduating to the next thread - hope to see you there MV!

After doing that test last week I'm so suprised - that was a sensitive test too - but I did do it later in the day so maybe my pee was more diluted by then.

I only did this test because my period was slightly late, and I wanted to reassure myself after my booze /sugar bender that I was NOT pregnant. Just goes to show it always happens when you don't expect it!

Can anyone tell me how to post a pic up? Feel i need to share the proof as it doesn't seem at all real yet.

The way I post pics is to upload the pic to a site like photobucket, and then copy an image link from there and paste into a reply box.

Amy that is such a lovely story, lots of hope :-) did they conceive through ivf in the end?

Benice, you'd get a more reliable result if you waited a few days but its definitely possible to get a + a few days early too.

Thanks firefly. DH & I have decided that we will give in until Wednesday (can't go to the Drs before then anyway due to work) and then if we have heard nothing, phone Drs, check if she has sent referral, if not then we will go and see the original Dr. Fed up now. Hope ov comes soon for you. No weight gain is good xx
