Trying for a Baby Part 8

Happy new year Ladies!!
Hope you all had a good one. We had some close friends round and ate party food, drank cocktails and played some games. It was fun. Been for a lovely walk at the seaside today as well.
Managed better than I had thought - I always get reflective at new years. I didn't cry tho - unusual for me!!
Thinking of all you ladies who are missing your angel babies. Hope we all get our forever babies this year.
Thank you for doing the lists Becca. Wonder if your body keeps gearing up to ov and then not releasing the egg for some reason? I would like to guess 9 for January please. Surely we are due a bumper month at some point?!?!
Thinking of QQ and hoping things are ok? Miss you.
Thinking of T2D - am reading along on the 12month+ board. Hope egg collection goes ok - will be thinking of you.
Agree with the longhaulers - the 'fun' has gone out of it all now. My friend was telling me last night how her brother's girlfriend is pregnant, unplanned. She just had the 20 week scan and its stomach is terribly mishapen and comes above its heart in places. They've been given a 30% chance of having a live baby, and then the baby would have to have a major operation with only a 30% chance of survival. Its so sad. All the joy and happiness is going to be replaced with sadness and worry:(
Am on soy this month for the first time. Finding it ok ish. No major headaches or anything. Just a bit of an upset tummy at times. I've gone for 120mg per day and done it over 3 stages all just after eating so hoping thats helping. Fingers crossed it does the trick.
Sooooo, dieting / healthy eating girls... There was a few people interested in this for the new year - starting monday 7th right? Fancy a challenge? I'll keep an eye on you all if you like and run a little challenge to keep you (and me mainly, lol!) in line. Just give me a challenge you want to set for yourself that week. So for some people it might be drinking more water, doing 3 lots of 30min exercise, losing 2lb, eating 5 portions of fruit n veg, no alcohol, no chocolate etc. I will only keep an eye on 1 thing per week for you, and no unrealistic goals please. This way you won't psych yourself out of it by 'failing'. I'll report back results every monday on how people have done on their individual challenges if thats ok with you all?Married my lobster in July 2011

Abis - I signed up over on the "weight loss the old style way" to lose 20 pounds in 12 weeks. That works out to be around 1.7 pounds per week. For the first week though, I think I need to be held accountable for eating on plan and within my calorie range.
I think if I can master the one portion thing, I'll be good. What I've done today is make a base plan, and if I'm still hungry (ie - not full) after that, I'm limited to fruits and low calorie veggies like green beans and broccoli. This way I'll still feel full, eat less overall calories, and get more fruits and vegetables in my diet.0 -

Hi everyone, hope we're all feeling a bit brighter and chirpier with lots of positivity for the coming year :rotfl:
Still no idea what's going on with my cycle, did an OPK today which showed a line, but not as dark as the control line. As neither myself or FF have any idea when or even if I'm OVing it's all a bit confusing really. DH and I have been very good at BDing over the past couple of days, so hopefully there'll be an eggy to catch!
Big hugs to anyone who needs or wants one, am going to read back for a bit now.0 -
Ooo I'm in Abis! Glad you have had no effects from soy. Love the new addition to your signature

Do you know, I was thinking exactly the same thing today. First pregnancies should be exciting and enjoyable and I understand the pain of having that taken away. For me, pregnancy is now only a means to an end and isn't something I can enjoy. Getting past 12 weeks doesn't mean anything
I really hope your story turns out for the best and that their baby is is okay. Modern medicine can do wonders nowadays. :A14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -

I'm meeting a friend tomorrow, who had a lovely 12 week scan, then got to the 20 week anomaly scan (which ppl seem to think is for telling you the gender-no it's not unfortunately) and found out it had this terrible disease, so she was given the choice of carrying it to term and seeing it live for 2 hours on a machine, or being induced giving birth & then having an Erpc.
I really hope abi that in your friends case the 30% comes true.
I feel the same way lily- I just find the whole thing scary now. For me the bfp is just the first hurdle- which is hard enough to get over in the first place.0 -
abis I hope everything works out for them
I know it sounds weird but I do often comfort myself with the thought that whilst I'm struggling to get pregnant at least I've not gotten pregnant for it to go wrong, that would be so much worse, I can't even imagine their pain x
oh and I'll join in the 2013 goals, I need someone to keep me in check for going to the gym at least 3 times a week
hopefully the food I can do myself. I find it easiest to take it very nearly literally bite by bite and think ' I can only eat this if it's low gi' and if it is low gi I can eat as much as I like
speaking of which, I have tortilla slices topped with cheese, tomato and onion in the oven which I'm going to go scoff now x xLittle Lowe born January 2014 at 36+6

I started the 'lose weight' club a bit early then. Did a 4 mile walk
abis, thanks for offering to keep track of us. Can you put me down for 3 one hour walks a week please. I wil be doing that this week too as i started today.DS born November 2013 :smileyhea0 -
I predict 5 BFPs in January
Hope everyone is well. CD13 here, and BDd on CD11 and will BD tomorrow at CD14. I'm thinking I'm probably ovulating today, so not overly optimistic. Hey ho, we can do but try. Been a distinct lack of ewcm as well. Will wait until tomorrow to call ov. That'll teach me not to get my CBFM sorted out in time
Hope everyone has had a good New Years Day0 -
Hello ladies, please may I join you? I'm just going in to my fourth month of TTC now (CD6) but got put on clomid 50mg as not ovulating. The first month on clomid I ov'd fine but the second month I thought I ov'd as got a positive on the OPK but then my day 21 test came back at 16 so doc said I hadn't. Well confused! Also I had bleeding days 7-14 which made me feel very uneasy about the clomid but the doctor said it was ok...i'm not so sure myself so will see if it happens again. Doing another month of clomid now to see what happens - hoping last month just a blip as my body was getting used to everything.
Beginning to realise this making a baby malarkey is waaay harder than I thought and gearing up for the long haul. I'm trying to lose some weight to maximise my chances, I lost a stone before xmas (two to lose) but put on 6lbs in the past two weeks - ouch! Will all be worth it if it regulates my ovulation though so totally motivated now xmas is over!
Anyway hope everyones dreams come true in 2013.
