  • is it bad that im hoping its bfn? AF is due at the end of the month, but if its BFP then I would be due slap bang in the middle of my dads surprise holiday for his 50th birthday.
If its BFP I know they would cancel the holiday - completely off topic but would their insurance cover cancellation? I wonder if the airline & hotel would allow them to re schedule?
Im gettin way ahead of myself - we did BD 3 days around OV but Im sure it wont happen that easily!

Abis - AF is due here on Christmas eve. Christmas day is really the only day that I know for a fact we will be alone in the house, plus I'll have enough stuff to keep me busy and keep me from getting too down if it is negative.

Told DH that I was feeling weird "down there" this morning (and most of yesterday too) like AF was ending if that makes sense. I also have had zero bd drive since the 16th, which is horrid because today is our first Anniversary! I know that he will expect it, even with the fact we will have company tonight and tomorrow morning!

I had a suspected mc about 6 years ago (unfortunately I cannot remember exactly when) and I've read that if you've had a mc, you should avoid intercourse until after the 12 week mark, unless the gp gives clearance. With it being that long ago, and I'm not even sure that's what it was, do you think it will make any difference now?

Hi Mrs T_M - I'm just jumping in here re: your question about having s e x before the 12 week mark. I had a miscarriage in September and then fell pregnant in October - I wasn't advised against having intercourse and we did a few times, and everything is fine, so unless your GP specifically mentions it, I don't think there is any need to worry.

Might be true, but no-one told me that. When I was pregnant with DS after the MC we had more sex the first trimester than in the year it took us to conceive him, weird I know. Maybe it depends on the reason for the MC?

Sorry or did you mean 12 weeks after a MC. I didn't feel like it for 6 months after it anyway, poor BF.

Thriftylass - I meant for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. :)

It's good to know that there really isn't any reason to worry. Might pull myself together and give DH what he wants tonight, even if I'm not "in the mood."

I'm trying to figure out which train our friend is on to come up here, but all I know she's coming from somewhere in Essex and is on an 11 o'clock to Cambridge, then will be headed our way!

  • Hi Ladies,

Congrats to all those who are getting their BFPs! And hugs to all who need it.

When the lists are next done can I please be taken off? OH and I are off of the TTC wagon for a couple of months while I finish up this bloody PhD and I apply for some jobs. I will keep lurking from time to time and be back around next June :)

Good luck and sticky baby dust to you all xxx

    Ladies.

Someone teach me about maca. Are you supposed to take it every day of your cycle? And what dosage?

    Hi lilymay,

I started taking maca on CD1 and continued right through my cycle. I began taking one capsule a day (500mg) for a week then upped it to two a day for another week before going up to three a day (the full dose recommended on the packet) The capsules seem to come in different strengths so check what youre buying.

The reason I started slowly and built up because after some googling some ladies reported having dodgy tummys by taking the full dose straight away.

DH got the same dose inflicted upon him .

I must say aside from getting a BFP I noticed that my skin was better, my moods were better, I even slept better and had more energy. I am still taking it although I am (slowly) cutting back to one capsule a day since getting my BFP. (please no one tell me off for continuing to take it, I did my research and made an informed decision to keep taking it throughout the pregnancy. The GP had never heard of it before. I also have a friend who is on her second pregnancy and is a couple of months ahead of me who swears that the maca is helping keep the morning sickness at bay and helping her generally to feel better)

    Best of luck

Sending hugs to those who need one and especially to atton.... dont give up honey you will get there one day I am sure.
If at first you dont succeed, try, try again
  • atton, ive never spoke to you before but just wanted to say, hope your ok and fingers crossed it will happen for you soon xxx
