becca, I think the soy thing can cause production of estrogen in men. I know I have to watch how much I consume because I'm estrogen dominate and it does mess with my cycle .

lemon, sounds like you're ntnp which isn't a bad way to go about it for a few months. If fate doesn't intervene in the form of a forever baby then you get a few months to recover and get strong enough to have the discussion.

    Codemonkey- hugs for CD1

@Becca, I believe soy increases estrogen, which is why it can speed up ovulation but not so great for men. Is there an alternative he can have?

and CD1 for me. Just as I started to get my hopes up. Is there room in the AF room ? I can bring some extra wine?

    So for some PMA
I have put on 6 pounds over the last couple of months so gives me some lose that and get fitter.
under a lot of pressure in work so it gives me time to work on my stress management

So that is all i have at the moment apart from the choccies and wine which might take away from point one!
  • *hugs* for CD1 and extra *hugs* for QQ. Thinking of you x

QQ - I know I've only been on here 2 minutes but I'm so sorry to hear what you are going through - I really hope that things are workable between you both. My DH has had bad experiences which have lead to trust issues and I know how much hard work that can be, no matter how patient & loving you are :A

Isca - I'm ttc and I'm obese. I do have worries and haven't lost as much weight as I'd like (Ideally I could lose 5 stone too; currently 5'2 and 13 stone :o), but am concerned that if I leave ttc until I'm the perfect weight then it may never happen - hoping to kill 2 birds with one stone now like someone else suggested. Just wanted to let you know you're not alone

    Aww thanks lao_cat :o I've lost 5st/12bmi points now :D

I thought I should probably venture a little ways out of lurkdom in the Barren Corner, as I'm now ttc again with the aid (hopefully) of clomid...:o My FS thinks it's worth a shot before progressing to IVF, as I've a) lost so much weight b) cycles are more regular lately (shock of all shocks I've had 2 x 28 day cycles and a 26 day cycle in the last 3!) c) had endometriosis removed during the laparoscopy surgery d) the dye finally snuck out of the tubes during surgery (the FS/surgeon thinks they may have "just" been twisted, but I do have an increased risk of ectopic now, which fairly terrifies me).

I've finished taking round 1 of my doses last week, am cd9 (10 on tues, if you want to add me to the list abis/QQ), and getting "high" on the CBFM that I finally get to play with! :p I have a follicular tracking scan on friday to check whether it's working and ov is imminent, and a blood test to check my progesterone level on cd21.

I'm terrified that all this means nothing, and that I'm headed for IVF regardless, but I can't go through the next 6 months assuming that - it's too depressing. And, in any case, that sneaky cowbag "hope" keeps creeping up on me ;):o

So, to everyone - hope you've not missed me too much ;) I'll be around but not necessarily posting all that frequently, just a little more than when I was in almost complete lurkdom ;)

Still thinking of you QQ. Please keep us informed of how you're doing. I hope you're managed to get a response from him, and that you're getting the support you need from your sisters.

  • I hope you all don't mind me joining in on this thread but I've been TTC since april (which is when I came off the pill) and this month I'm a week late... usually my period is within a few days of being due but this time there's nothing, I have had some light cramping for a while now not anywhere near as bad as my normal period pains. I took a test last night (cheapy one, if that makes a difference) and it was negative; I know you can get false negative if you test too early but I'm at a loss of what to do really... has anyone had a similar experience?
