Birdie, I had the same reaction to that sig :o
Tealover, my gp gave a smaller quantity at first, then when we knew I was getting on ok with it, he upped the quantity he'd prescribe. Normally 3 months worth, but this time I'm sure he gave me 6mnths worth! You can pay a years prepaid, but monthly, ands cancel it when/if you need to too
Thanks rumfeeble
Saw my gp today who wasn't optimistic about the success rates of tubal surgeryhe seemed to think I'd likely be sent straight for assisted conception even if they could unblock them, especially if it is endo, to reduce the risk of it growing back before conception. I feel like I'm suddenly staring IVF in the face _pale_ Guess I need to stop wallowing and crack on with losing some more weight, huh?:o Also seriously considering adoption options...
You have nothing to loose though right? So as long as theyre prepared to do it then it may work.
The other day I was thinking about how devastated I would feel if I had to have IVF or similar. Or even fertility drugs etc.
And then I thought you know what, if you went back say 30/40 plus years ago there must have been women who BDed for years and years, never knowing what was wrong with them, not having any solutions, and never having children. And for some they probably hoped for years, when then was never any chance. And in some cases simple treatments that we have now could have helped.
So at the same time as I know I would feel awful about it, at least those treatments are there. And yes IVF isnt a guarantee, nothing is, but just the fact that its an option, and it does work for lots of people, is great!
So i guess try to stay as positive as you can? What do GPs know anyway!!:)0 -
Good morning and Happy Friday gang.
Zippy - I agree wholeheartedly with what Claire says. IVF is an amazing thing, and I personally know 3 couples very close to me that have all had success on their 1st round. Of course it doesn't always work out like this, but it's another option. Adoption is also another route and there are children desperate for loving homes, so great you are also considering this.
Ugh I have the AF from hell, I don't know why but as I have got older it just seems to have got heavier and longer in duration..rubbish!
I've pre-warned OH on when I think my fertile days are this week, so he is primed and ready (hopefully!)Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Thought I'd update you all on knicker watch lol, this morning I have a teeny tiny brown smudge - thats all...
Think AF is just playing games with me, but if nothing has happened by tomorrow morning I will do a test - would do one today, but don't want to see a BFN!0 -
morning ladies, hope all's well and the bank holiday weekend won't be too rainy for everyone.
BZ - massive hugs xx. It is scary when the plan suddenly isn't the one you thought it was. I've been in such a mindset of 'the problem is endo' for so many years that I'm struggling to get my head round adding PCOS and low sperm count into the mix. But, as others have said, there are solutions for pretty much all of the possible problems we can face. We just need to stay strong and take it one thing at a time.
Think at my next FS appt (nov) I'll be asking about another lap to excise the endo as I can feel it coming back. My last lap was 2 years ago (and every 2 years before that) and I've not been on the pill at all in that time, and now I'm on clomid. So I guess it's not surprising that it's growing again.
MV - hope AF pains beggar off soon.
claire - we do need to focus on the amazing chances we have now that we wouldn't have had even a few years ago. Guess it doesn't feel it to many of us right now but we are pretty lucky, all things considered.
amy - good luck for testing on monday.
atton - sounds like the uni & wedding plans are coming together nicely.
code - there are probably far more arguments against having more than one husband, imagine the amount of socks all over the floor!
loulou - hope your friend from work is ok. Must be a relief to have told her parents.
mrsj - weather looking rubbish here for the weekend so will get some more of the book read and let you know what I think, now I'm not in a strop with it:D.

BigZippy - massive ((hugs)). Fingers crossed they can unblock the tubes successfully. I know none of the options are the route anybody would take by choice over natural conception on the first cycle of trying, but I really hope you and DH will find the right route for you guys to having your own little family. As others have said, one step at a time
And we are all here to listen even if we can't do anything practical, please come and chat/rant.
Amyloofoo - hope AF stays away! Good luck testing on Monday.
Tealover - hope the endo pain is a bit better today? Another lap sounds like a plan, hope the FS will agree. Enjoy the book but if it makes you cross shred it, or re-sell it on ebay, or burn it, or whateverIt could be a good opener to break the ice at the FS appointment 'this online friend of mine hated your book so much that she barbecued it....'
Claire - thanks for your post, great PMA! I keep thinking how I'd love to do this naturally with no help whatsoever, but you are right, just having the options is a blessing which I should be grateful for!
Have a good day ladies - it's fffffff Friday! AND a long weekend0 -
Morning all,
Sorry I've been a bit AWOL recently. My brain has been fried at work, and I have been quite depressed about CD1. My period has been really random this month. It was quite light for a day, ridiculously heavy yesterday (leaking through a tampon after about 45 minutes) and now it's totally stopped.
BizZippy - Sorry to hear such shoddy newsI had a quite look on the 12m+ thread and saw your post there. Fingers crossed your tubes are easily sorted. I second what MrsJ says about coming here anytime to chat
In my (very limited) experience, GP's seem to know sod all about fertility issues.
Tea - Good luck with the FS. Is it you that has the appointment on 3rd Sep? Are you in any less pain this morning? Endo must be horrible.
Amy - Good luck for testing
COMP - Your chart is looking nice this month - I know that doesn't mean a lot but I am going to SS for you
MV - Boo for rubbish AF. Hopefully it will be gone soon!
Tink - I am very jealous of you giving up work. I wish we could afford for me to be a lady who lunches - sadly, on OH's wage that isn't ever going to happen! With a bit of luck, by the time we have had 1 or 2 more children (see, PMA there) he will be on enough £££ for me to only work p/t.
LouLou - Hope the brown CM is just a rogue bit and that AF stays away
Code - I would quite like 2 husbands. Although my second one would need to be totally different from OH. 2 of him would drive me potty....
Can someone either give me a slap or a hug. I thought I was okay about AF arriving, but the last few days have just been horrible and I am feeling very flat. What am I doing wrong?14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -
Sending more (((hugs))) your way, bigzippy.
Good news on the course, atton
Loving the dress, tinks

23 according to FF  Although this may not be too accurate as I messed up my temping. I'm currently CD31 and my last cycle was 21 days so a little confused at this stage :rotfl:
I am a naughty impatient lady so I just did a cheapy test, BFN
I'm pretty resigned to it not happening this month, but I'd like to get my cycles sorted and start being a bit more regular so I at least know what's going on.
Come on August BFPs!0 -
LilyMay - have a slap and a hug at the same time
(well have a big hug and then a tiny slap)
You are not doing anything wrong! Please don't think that!
It's positive that you are in the system and have seen the FS, and hopefully the tests will rule out or in any potential issues, and then they can be addressed. And in the meantime, fingers crossed for a surprise BFP!
I know it's not for me to say... (but I'll say it anyway, I usually do..) why don't you try and stay away from all the testing this month? As long as you and DH are having regular sex throughout the cycle, there is no need to pinpoint ovulation, and all of the early HPTs are just confusing with the annoying evap lines and so on. I know I've really enjoyed a cycle without all of that extra pressure. Just a thought, and feel free to return the slap if I'm out of order!

:grouphug:
I know it's probably not much help, but wait and see what the FS says. If you're not ovulating, you're clearly not doing anything wrong.
And no SS - even for other people!:rotfl:Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0
