Delivery to Neighbour

I wonder how the opt out option will work with flats (I can't see them mentioned on the RM site). I live in a block of flats and would opt out, but maybe some of my neighbours might be okay with the scheme. The postman doesn't come into the block so will the main door have to be covered in stickers!
I doubt they will be bothering
if you don't answer your buzzer then a P739 would most likely be left
RM are making no allowance for extra time of leaving with neighbours0 -
From what I remember, Safeplace is opt in rather than opt out and I had to nominate a place/neighbour through the RM website.how do you compare the two?
How does Safeplace work?
(For the record, I don't like opt out schemes - New Labour let all the mailing list holders in the country switch to opt out because of the loads of money to be made in doing so.)0 -

So that's a Royal Mail-liveried address label with the Safeplace notes on it huh?theres no such scheme

Probably explains why the only place I've seen it called Safeplace was on Amazon - didn't realise it was a retailer scheme, not an RM one.
Anyway, I've requested my opt-out sticker.0 -
its an RM product(such as 1st class, tracked etc are)but RM don't control the data.
The retailer simply inputs the data into the label template they print0 -

11. What if I am happy for you to deliver my items to a neighbour but am not happy to receive other neighbours' items?
"The opt out sticker tells the delivery staff that you are opting out of the trial – both your mail being delivered to a neighbour and your neighbours mail being delivered to you. If you do not opt out but you do not want to take mail we have not been able to deliver to your neighbour, you will be able to let the postman or woman know that."

10. I want to opt out of the trial, but don’t want to display a sticker?
"We need our delivery teams to be able to identify that you do not wish to be part of the trial and they will do that through the use of an opt out sticker."
So you need to display a sticker to opt out of delivery of your mail to a neighbour (no other option) , but if you don't want to accept your neighbours mail just "let the postman or woman know that"
So in summary if you want to opt out and live in a block of flats you are required to put a sticker on your door which may be interpreted by your neighbours that you do not trust them - and they walk past your door every day and will be reminded of this every day
Will this have an impact on the opt out rate ?
Would the use of "opt in" stickers rather than "opt out " stickers have made a difference to the results - I wonder why Royal Mail chose the latter :idea:Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Yes - they may as well spread it out to keep their regulator buddies in work
