    P & P = Posting and packaging.

This is more about how your prices contrast with other sellers' prices, I can see both sides of this coin.

If you charge £2.30 postage, (£2.20 second class, 10p envelope).

    And I charge £2.75 postage, (£2.20 second class, 10p envelope, 45p for 5 mile round trip @ 15p/mile)

All the buyer sees is an extra 45p, unfortunate if a seller has to drive/travel specifically to post, yes it's a cost of posting. But other sellers don't incur this cost and pass it on to the buyer so that's what you're judged on.

Thank you, you explain it better than I do.

Despite my maths... 15p x 5 = 45p? Beer withstanding, I'm going to teach secondary Maths come September, that's appalling :embarasse

    Postage and packing. Not posting.

Postage means the cost of the stamps put on an item to send it.

If I paid for two separate lots of postage and packaging, then I would expect to receive two lots of packaging, for which two lots of postage had been paid.

In any event, even if it you believe that p&p includes shoe leather and the trip to the PO, that cost does not increase when you are sending 2 parcels instead of 1.

I really have no time for shamelessly dishonest sellers.

They aren't being dishonest, they are charging you exactly what they said they'd charge you!!! Unfortunately as a seller I really have no time for shamelessly ignorant buyers like yourself.

Not really, if a seller advertises something, they should provide it.
But if the seller won't combine even if he/she didn't advertise combined postage?

You can be as  as you want, try reading the whole of my post next time.

If, as a seller, you advertise combined postage and then don't provide it, there is only one person being shameless.

Also, if you post two items in one package, with one postage cost, whilst charging the buyer for two packages and two postage costs. Well, that's clearly not providing what the buyer has paid for.

I have no desire to argue, but if you're going to be all :mad::mad: about things, at least be right. ;)
But if the seller won't combine even if he/she didn't advertise combined postage?

Than that seller deserves negative feedback and being forced to send each item separately to different addresses when possible.

But,as usual if the item was freepost at item cost plus the £2.75 you would be non the wiser and not spitting feathers at the disgusting 45p overcharge!:rotfl:

But as Soolin said earlier, depending on what items you buy,you cannot always combine.

Totally agree, unless you refund any excess postage paid of course.

These are not freepost though so it has nothing to do with the thread.

If they were freepost then seller can do what ever they like. If it is cheaper to send two items in one packet (and as per my earlier post that is not always the case) then seller is under no obligation to do so, but would be foolish if he then sends them combined without giving a little something back as goodwill.

Even with my items that I mentioned earlier where I state openly that no combined p and p is given- I still email each buyer and explain why they are getting 2 deliveries instead of one. Buyers don't always realise how much stuff costs to send and the difference between large letter and packet rates and rely on sellers to make sure it is fair. If I was told specifically that it was not possible to combine the two items, then fair enough- but I would then expect two parcels to arrive and not one.
