our collie cross has no interest in watching tv but some of the doorbells send her into a barking frenzy to alert us that someone is at the front door
this usually involves us having to go to the front door to show her that there is noone is there as she will not settle till we do

Same here, can't figure it out really because I've had him since he was a almost a pup (he's an old dog now) and at no point has he ever lived in a house with a doorbell
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?

Isn't it strange how many pets seem to think the TV is real, and how many totally ignore it! I wonder why .... ???

Was just having this conversation with a friend this afternoon!

My dog LOVES tv! To the point where he will whine for it to come on!

My cat watches animal programmes and snooker - she tries to bat the balls and runs behind tv to "catch" them!

My last dog used to watch animal hospital, and associated the eastenders music with his evening walk time, so used to bark at the boom booms at the end of the show - if he'd been out earlier or it was a repeat we had to sit with our finger ready on the remote, to mute the sound!
