Is it possible to get an idea of the sex of a baby from a 13 week scan?

Again, possibly a factor? My obstetrician did all the scans himself, so it was the same person looking at the baby every time.

Btw, 27 weeks is quite a premie! Hope your little one (even if said "little one" is really a very old one now) is doing well.

I only had sonographers doing my scans, I was going to be getting scanned by the Obstetrician from 28 weeks gestation, but never made it!

My Daughter is fine thanks, she's 8 months old now, but really the size of a 4 month old. Had a tough 13 weeks in the NICU, but that's all behind us now!

I didnt find out until 33 weeks. Before then my baby was laying funny and they couldnt tell but a late scan revealed it.
Having read quite a lot about scans it seems that some of the newer machines can tell at 12 / 13 weeks. I also know 2 people who were told the wromg sex and eneded up with a huge shock. ie loads of pink clothes and a pink nursery and then a boy turned up !
