iPad on contract - can I sell it?

You can't watch certain videos from browsing Chrome as you need Flash player and it doesn't work
True and absolutely ridiculous. Any Android tablet wins hands down for this fact alone. Sure there are 'workarounds' but any device that needs a 'workaround' to watch a video should be avoided!
It's a shame really as Apple desktop's and macbook's are my preferred choice (design and development mainly, not for watching vidsI never did like the iphone either, had it for 3 months then got rid. Just missed Android too much

I did the same with my iPhone.
On contract, thought my 4s was no where near as good as the hype suggested, dropped calls problem mainly.
Sold it, bought a Blackberry, very happy, just carry on paying the contract.0 -
I am just worried that if I sell this, I don't want someone coming back knowing it was on contract? Also says "No SIM"
On settings, it says carrier "3" - will they know it's on contract? Can I change this by restoring?0 -
As its the 3g model its actually worth more than the wifi model..
stick an ovivo £5 one off fee simcard in (uses vodafone) and the user will have 1gb a month for 'life' (well until they go...)... alongside the wifi use..
The only risk to the buyer would be if it could be 'blocked' as lost but that only really happens with phones; but you're a reputable seller...0 -
Thanks Stu.
Just a question, will the iPad be now locked to three? Also it keeps saying no sim installed, not sure what to do?0 -

OP, as stated you can sell the ipad itself but ensure to remove the sim card before selling as you wouldn't want the buyer to be drumming up a huge bill for you. You will have to pay the remainder of the contract or see what the fee is to cancel early but normally this is the remainder of the contract anyway in one go.
Its al been said above but just confirming.
I was purely a genuine question, i dont own 1 myself and just wanted to know.0 -
Thanks Stu.

at first guess I would say it will be locked to 3, but the only way to make sure is to try a different networks SIM in it, as you say you are fine keeping and paying for the SIM all you need to do to sell it is take the SIM card out, hook the iPad to iTunes and hit restore, this will remove all your data off the iPad, and the new person will set it up new.
if the iPad is locked to 3, if the new person wants it unlocked, then you will have to give 3 a call (they will probably only unlock it for the original owner), I would say it will probably be free for them to unlock it or at most £20.0 -

FYI, I was just asking because maybe it can do what he wants but he just doesn't know how to.2019 Wins

I have just been to three and they have told me that I can't unlock it until the 24th, very annoying.
To add to this, it will cost £15.
Are there not any third party people that can unlock this?0 -
Someone has offered to buy it, and they said they will unlock it themselves.
Can they?0
