Yodel - They don't deliver/collect so what do they do!?

The last month or so has been one of the most stressful of my life and it's all because Yodel is part of it.
I ordered a toothbrush from Amazon, they delivered it and supposidly put the item in my bin even though there was nothing in there. Had to get the item re-delivered (Thank you to Amazon for being prompt with this).
I ordered then a few days later some Headphones from Amazon, they delivered them to me but it wasn't what I was looking for. I logged on to arrange a return, Yodel were meant to pick it up on the 10th but didnt bother, they then rescheduled to today and didnt bother. I called up their call centre and was told 'Your not our customer, go ring Amazon if you want to complain abou the service'....
In the mean time I ordered a replacement pair of headphones but from another company in the hope to avoid Yodel... but guess what, they struck again! Item was meant to be delivered on the 10th (Paid extra delivery) but shock horror... again they didn't bother to deliver! They ended up rescheduling it to the 13th and finally delivered it to me passing it to someone else and saying I signed for it.
So that's 3 occasions I've experienced Yodel and all 3 times they've been GOD AWFUL!
Why do companies use them.. they're just a joke. I spoke to someone in Yodel CS about the service and got the standard cut and paste response of 'We strive to ensure all our customers receive an excellent level of service and I can only apologise for the delay and for the undoubted inconvenience this has caused'
I love the claims on their website also
"Delivered with a can-do attitude" - You give me attitude whenever I speak to your company but I wouldn't say it was Can-Do.
"Your delivery so your call how it works" - You keep rescheduling so it's not my call?
"We've arrived" - No you havent... you failed to on 2 occasions!

You do realise any collection a company arrange for you such as from catalogues is a complimentary service. and is rarely gaureenteed.0

Regardless, telling me it will be on a certain date and then not turning up and re-arranging it 3 times is very very poor service.
It also doesn't justify the poor service for the initial delivery that I've paid for.0 -
I had problems with Yodel, they were supposed to come, but just couldn't be bothered. When I rang I was told there was a note saying they decided not to deliver due to bad weather conditions, what a joke it couldn't have been nicer outside. When it finally arrived the day after, it was dumped by my bin, in full view for anyone to take!No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T0 -
They are pretty poor at everything they do but once in a while it does work. They are cheap for a reason!0

Anyway, to respond seriously.
If it were me I would be drawing Amazon's attention to this. If Amazon start losing money through having to replace lost items or losing customers they might rethink their systems. Having said that I often have stuff delivered to work. Which works as long as they try to deliver duriing business hours.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Yodel were named and shamed on watchdog in march this year for poor service. It would appear they have not improved any.0 -
It's such a shame, when I read about Yodel on the internet, I was very worried as my partner bought something from Amazon and it was faulty, so it had to be returned and picked up by Yodel.
Maybe I was expecting the worse after reading all the reviews online. At the end, the driver arrived on the day as promised and collected the item from my work place. He was very helpful and friendly actually. Maybe I was just very lucky.0 -
I understand this could be an isolated case but on the 3 occasions I've come into contact with Yodel they've been nothing but poor.
It could be the depot that covers my area is poor but if you look online it seems the company as a whole is pretty awful.
In the end Amazon have had to send another company to arrange the collection because Yodel are hopeless.
They need to do a lot of work before they come anywhere near the claims on their website.0 -
I had a bad experience with Yodel (delivering for Argos). Just as you say above. Didn't deliver when they should have done, by that time I refused it - they took it away only to redeliver it again when I wasn't in. Then didn't turn up to take away what they shouldn't have delivered in the first place. It really makes me not want to order anything off the internet in case its 'them'!0

I wonder if Yodel have a company rep on this website? They'd probably be too ashamed to post anything.0
