Body shop regularly have these glitches, whether this is incompetance on their behalf for not being aware of crossed offers or if it is a marketing ruse to get rid of stock quickly.
Now either way, bare in mind they have procedures to stop glitch orders spiralling out of control, and hence why they can honour them, such as updating stock to a certain level each morning at a preset time, and blocking cards after x amount of orders (now it used to be a card blocked after two but it seems others have managed this recently so maybe they are more leniant?)
They would have been aware of this glitch in the first day, the amount of orders (if not the revenue) would have alerted them to an issue, they have to then work out the issue and inform management (who may just be on holiday/in meetings) lengthy meetings take place to decide what course of action will be taken to ensure the best return of custom.
Having studied business and knowing that body shop hase a very high profit margin, chances are, they aren't making a loss on these products, even with the glitch. Most people are buying Eid sets which would be repackaged next year albeit they will have to pay for a new box design. Body shop unlike alot of companies do not spend alot of money on advertising and promotion, which is surprising considering the position they are in, even competitors such as Lush have a massive budget for a wide range of events and campaigns. Does it not make sense for the body shop to introduce a glitch every now and then, to get rid of the majority of old stock that they want shifted (would cost them more in manpower to repackage them) knowing most people will buy gift sets? nd these gift sets will be spread amongst friends and faily, with these cards, and no doubt entice double the amount of customers to each order?
It's just a theory based on business knowledge but I think it would be a little naive to think they had 'just caught on'. And lets fce it, e don't mind sharing our stashes out for a cheap deal, these glitches are aimed at us after all.
I hope everyone receives their orders in full and that if not body shop will honour those who had sets missing. The chocomania sets look amazing and I haven't seen a range like this with the same ethics behind the products. Fingers crossed for everyone tomorrow morning, and not sure f it works like that or not but if the BB cream still offers free delivery maybe card, shampoo, bb cream nd gift set would be a good deal at £5?
Thank you op for sharing :A
Thanks for putting clarity on my paranoia!!! feel less guilty now!! tried the new BB cream this morning does not work with the glitch pity!!!!0 -

Good points, well made. I have benefitted from previous BS glitches too and I know employees have commented on this site on how huge the mark up is on their products, hence they can easily afford or allow these "glitches".
I agree with what you have said (even though my sphere of expertise is not business:)). The point in my post was not so much that BS have finally realised what has been happening, as you say, it would be impossible to think that they hadn't noticed from the 1st day ,but I agree with other posters that they have now decided to put an end to it, or that's what it looks like.
It was agreat spot and post from indrute and good luck to everyone who tries in the morning...even if this one is over we can probably be pretty certain that there will be another along soon0 -

They're a brave lot couldn't last that long without food
So some of the boxes are tied with ribbon (which has wording on it for Eid) that's all, you can easily remove it.
Thanks mine just had plain ribbon on them x0 -
Savvybunny - wonderful post.
I wonder if this is what happened my credit card - getting blocked. (was not sure if it was cards, address or email or topcashback for that matter so makes sense its the card)
I had places a couple of orders at £18 ish just before this glitch - i mean just before. Then went to do the glitch and thats when my orders kept getting declined.
How on earth can they block a card ?? And all my cards??
I atcually remember this happening a year or two ago - not sure what the glitch was or how many orders I had done - would not have been many.
Is it all to do with cookies etc ? - don't really understand all that.
And the most important question, will all my cards be blocked for a while ????
I could do with understanding all this for if there is a next time - which there will be -lol.
(The glitch order i did - to 'friend' was from hubbies card - which no longer works either)0 -
No sign of any new stock of the card yet.0
-
I hope the cards will be soon in stock, want to go back to bed0

Glitch over. I added card gel and two gift sets it wants £34.99.0
