how many points do you have and what were the offences?

The norm is 6 points max and some firms don't like any drink driving, dangerous driving convictions
  • I'd imagine that the 'full clean licence' of which many job adverts speak is regarded as essential by many employers of drivers, so there I'd equally imagine that penalty points would be a hindrance.

Although points come off the licence after 4 years, insurers don't let you off them till 5 years have passed, and employers may not consider you are free from points till their insurer does too.

Some will want a full clean licence others will probably be OK with 3 points for speeding.

Depending what the points are for.

We had a driver with a DR10, He seemed a good candidate but the insurers wanted an extra £1000 to cover him.

Think you should try a different career.

No employer will want to risk taking you on with that history

Can't be that minor if you got points.

With those points I would certainly hope that no employer would even consider you.
