how many points do you have and what were the offences?
The norm is 6 points max and some firms don't like any drink driving, dangerous driving convictions0 -
I'd imagine that the 'full clean licence' of which many job adverts speak is regarded as essential by many employers of drivers, so there I'd equally imagine that penalty points would be a hindrance.0

Although points come off the licence after 4 years, insurers don't let you off them till 5 years have passed, and employers may not consider you are free from points till their insurer does too.0 -
Some will want a full clean licence others will probably be OK with 3 points for speeding.
Depending what the points are for.
