We spend most of our time together when dp isn't working, we go out with friends a couple of times a month but apart from that we do things as a family.
I realise after reading this thread how lucky we are to be able to spend so much time together.......I suppose I should appreciate him a bit more!!:)DS1 10yrsDS2 7yrs :)DS3 born March 2012

As much time as we can without wanting to strangle each other
as I'm working away this summer its constantly together at weekends.
Normally, 3-4 evenings a week plus majority of the weekends. Not always awake at the same times or doing the same things but generally within about speaking distance (and line of sight). Our different hobbies can be accomodated in the same room or within sight of each other so its positive all round
When it comes to getting things done we're not as productive as either would be on their own but it works for us:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A0 -
As much time as possible, we make a point of having a set routine with the kids at night so we can have some quality time together once they go to bed, its maybe just watching TV or having a chat, sometimes I read and he surfs the net and we lie and have a cuddle.
Our weekends are planned together as well, its only very occassionaly we do things seperatley
How lovelyWish we had something like that, sometimes i think we're just two people who share a house and some kids
Sorry to put on downer on the thread, i'll get me coat

OH is self employed so his hours vary. Some days he may leave home at 7am and not get home until 10pm, others he may not leave until 10am and be back by 3pm.
I don't work and don't very often go out during the day so when he is here we are normally together although we may both be on our laptops!
We usually go out for a meal about once a week just the two of us and if he has a whole day off we will usually go out somewhere for the day.
Some weeks we don't spend that much time together and some weeks, if his work is quiet, we can be together almost constantly. We rarely go out without the other. I have very few friends and I tend to see them during the day. OH also has very few friends although he does belong to a car club and they have meetings once a week. He doesn't always go because of work but goes when he can although I often go too as other members take their husbands/wives.
We get on really well - we are each others' best friend. I do find if I do go out for an evening without him (which is very rare) I find myself wishing he were there as I would rather spend my time with him than anyone else.
We did work together for about 4 years and, apart from a few arguments, got on really well. Also when we go on holiday we never seem to argue at all.
We do spend a bit of time apart at home. I get my "me" time during the day as I am home and he sometimes uses the computer or watches tv in our "office". Also he will spend time in the garage working on one of our cars.
We still seem to find plenty to talk about and after over 30 years of marriage, I guess it works for usThe world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0 -
My partner works offshore for 8-10weeks at a time, and is then back for 4 weeks (usually), so I go from not seeing him at all to having him around all the time! lol Takes a bit of getting used to as I develop my own routines whilst he's away, but it definitely makes the time we have together more special0

Pretty much all the time when he's not at work.
I'm disabled and virtually housebound if he's not available to help me; I can sometimes get him to go and do errands without me if I'm not feeling well enough to go (such as the monthly run to the farmers market) but as far as leisure goes, he won't even go to the pub without me!
He lived alone for many years before we met, and says there's no joy in going on his own - if I'm not up to it, he'd prefer to stay home with me.
Luckily we have similar interests, so it's not a problem. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I'm a newish relationship, but its long distance so we tend to see each other at weekends (or on his days off). After having lived with 2 previous exes i'm in no rush at all to move to that situation again, and this set up seems to suit us. We do our own thing during the week, then have couple time at weekends, its like the best of both worlds
I should add we do talk constantly everyday..i'm talking to him right now in factThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Not much  OH works weird shifts so between 3 and 4 days a week he either works until 11.30pm or isn't home until 6.30. By the time we have dinner, I tidy up the days mess, sort out babies stuff for the next day and any chores that need done, he usually watches something on TV and I normally read my book (we don't like the same TV Shows) on his days off we usually do something as a family
he finishes early 1-2 days a week and is home by 3.30, he will usually spend the afternoon with our son on those days, which gives me time to pop out for things we need or take time to myself to have a bath etc.
