Sorry to hear about Sid.
When you feel more up to posting about it, I've never heard of "Rage" unless it was accompanied by a tumour or other pain.
Can anyone please enlighten me? Is it breed specific, or can it happen to any pooch?0 -
so sorry for you0

There are some thoughts that it might be a form of epilepsy - see 1st link from my earlier postrising_from_the_ashes wrote: »When you have him checked over by the vet - ask about this http://www.love-springer-spaniels.com/springer-rage-syndrome.html / http://www.vetinfo.com/daggressp.html
Although it's rare, I know 2 people whose Springers have had it.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Sorry Loubie. Sometimes these things are for the best, but it's still very difficult to do.0

There is no cure for it at present unfortunately.
Once a dog has it, although there can be long periods between "attacks", it will happen again at some pointrising_from_the_ashes wrote: »Not at all his fault and sadly no cure as yet.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Growing up we took on a collie cross pup that had exactly the same thing. Lovely dog up until about 9 months and became absolutely dangerous. She would sit being fussed and then just leap at you ready to rip your throat out!
Vet diagnosed her with Rage too. So sad x0 -
I can't help feel maybe 'rage' is actually a term they used for a dog thats not fully tame... hmm...0

Coin do you actually ever have anything nice / worthwhile to say .... or do you deliberately try to be nasty / offensive?
The OP has lost their dog - try to imagine if you'd lost one of yours...... and be a bit sympathetic.
Rage is a specific condition - if you bother to spend 5 minutes searching the internet for info on it - you'd know that.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
