I'm not trying to be clever Mucky, I'm genuinely trying to understand.

So you are saying that if a bay both starts and ends with two lines it's OK? And if it both starts and ends with one line it's OK? But if it starts with one line and ends with two lines it's a dud?

I was referring to the link you posted, my point being that we can't actually see the far end of the bay in that piccy, or at least I can't!

Ok not a problem :) education is what its about.

The bay in the link there is non compliant as it is a hybrid, that particular one although it starts with two lines the side markings are not the correct ones to be used with that type of bay.

    II _ _ _ _I_ _ _ _II would be an incorrect bay as it mixes a 1032 and a 1028

II _I_ II would be correct

I _I_ II would be incorrect and so on.

    Bays should be either :

    II _I_ II or I _ _ _ _I_ _ _ _I is that a little clearer ?

Got it now I think, many thanks! Forewarned is forearmed, especially in the modern minefield of parking!
