Hi, the offense code is 01. Yes, one side of the street is permit holders only, the other side is parking bays serviced by the meter, which is what I did. The bays aren't on the street view, hence how I know it is out of date. Apparently I can't put images on here, but I have also posted in pepipoo forums (google it) in the forum and under the username as stated at the top of my query in this thread with some links to photos that I have taken. Have a look if you think it might help. Thanks for your help.0

I don't do pepipoo. Sorry but without seeing the location as it is today, I can't really comment. Would really need to see the image of your car actually parked there and the PCN. Have you tried posting in CAG?PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0

Absolutely ridiculous in my opinion, how a council thinks it can get away with enforcing anything relating to that complete horlicks of road markings is beyond me.
And how they can have the nerve to claim that the yellow lines are maintained to "the minimum standard...". Words fail!Je suis Charlie.0 -
Lindsey.... have you got photos if the lines of the bays ?
Many bays in Leeds are what we call a hybrid bay - they are wrongly marked out ! defo need to see a photo of the bay from start - middle - end, very important you do all !
Code01 is parked in a restricted area so you are within a controlled parking zone, If you can find the start of the cpz - these have to be signposted with TWO signs - one on either side of the road. If they are not signed correctly then it would be a win at adjudication as would the bays if they are incorrectly marked.
Ive seen your photos of the bays on CAG they are what appear to be a 1032 bay - you need to check if they start with two lines, if they start with one line and look like the bays in the link then its a hybrid bay and again a win at adjudication.
I would just add that personally I would go all the way with this, the photos above do better justice than the ones on CAG. I would say a win is quite likely being as there are two sets of markings so which one do you go for ? on the other hand ( devils advocate ) adjudicator could say dy's - should no better than to park on them as they are visable - and you still get done. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
Thanks to both of you for your comments and for popping those links up - really helpful. Muckybutt - would you just clarify what you mean by the bays starting with two lines. I believe the set of bays starts with two lines (i.e. the first bay at the end of the road has two white lines marking its outermost edge) but the one I parked in most definitely has single lines either side. What does it mean when a bay starts with 2 or 1 line and does this have any bearing on whether I am right to argue my ticket? Also, I am going to check for these cpz signs in the morning, thanks for that tip. More advice would be gratefully received!0

The individual marked bays that are seen there are marked correctly that I can confirm, the start and finish of the row has to be the same. So that particular bay - a 1032 HAS to start with two lines at the beginning or the row, and it HAS to finish with two lines at the opposite end.
If it starts with one and ends with two if you follow then its a hybrid ( non compliant ) bay.
The cpz might be some way from the actual road where you were parked btw ! it will start with a sign like this a 663, note where a restriction is in place permanently the times shown in the bottom are not shown. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
Muckybutt - just to clarify - do you mean that the bays shown are marked correctly as in the white lines are correct, or do you mean that it is acceptable for there to be double yellows also in the bay?0
-
Not acceptable to have both dy's and bays.
The bays are marked correctly, but you could do with checking the lines at the start and end......they have to start with TWO lines and FINISH with TWO lines. The T seperating the bays are fine forget about them.
illegal parking bayYou may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
I'm confused Mucky. Why is that bay illegal? It starts with two lines but you can't see the end of it in that pic.
Surely it's irrelevant to the OP though? She's got a bay with double yellow lines in it! Well sort of, what she's actually got is a bay with a few fragments of yellow paint in it!Je suis Charlie.0 -

Is the bay you are referring to in the link above ? if so -
1032's start with two lines perp to the kerb, then every space is divided by a T, the end of the bay will also end with two lines perp to the kerb.
1028's start with one line perp to the kerb, followed by several lines down the side of the bay, the bays divided by a T, again ending the same as it started.
If these bays are mixed then they are a hybrid bay, so say the line of bays started with a double line, and ended with a single line its a hybrid, as would be any other combination other than what they should be.
Leeds have a lot of hybrid bays....many councils do due to incompetant road marking gangs...which is why it was brought up as it is relivent to the op's case. If bays are incorrectly marked then its another avenue to pursue, as would be incorrect signage of the start of the cpz she was parked in.
