Hi, this is the Daily Threadf or 13th. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Overcast here at the moment, fish fed & packups made, I've taken hubby a cuppa in bed & will start his breakfast after I've had a shower & then take him to work.
Plans for today include more sorting of the sewing room, we will order the beds soon & need somewhere to put them.
Time I had a shower & started breakfast, have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning, the sun is trying to break through the clouds here, but it is fairly warm.
I have work to do today and the cupboards are bare so have to do a food shop. Also some errands to run.
I'm so tired after all that's gone on since May that it's diificult to raise any enthusiasm for the things I used to enjoy.....cooking, getting the house sorted, gardening, all sorts of things. All I seem to do is work, deal with the stuff to do with my son's crisis and flop about the place being pathetic. Hate myself for it. I'm sure it will pass and getting lots of exercise does help life my energy levels for sure. Hey ho, it will pass I'm sure.
    Have a good day all.

    Morning everyone :)

Tired here, late night and then up again at 6am to walk pooch.
Feel a bit deflated now Olympics are over, have had a great time watching it and I've loved the positivity and joy of late. No doubt be back to doom and gloom
Plans today are to drag the kids round Aldi whilst turning a deaf ear to pleas of excess crap ;), push the vac and the duster round and play with the kids.

    Not sure about tea yet.

    Morning all,

Bit gloomy here today, hope it brightens up, I have 2 loads of washing to do.

OH and I worked so hard in the lounge yesterday, I am completely shattered by the end of the day, we are ready for the skim coat now, which should be this week.

Today I need to have a good clean through the whole house, its kind of taken a back seat while we do the lounge, but it needs doing, will do as much as I can, as the lounge furniture is all over.

Dinner tonight will be cottage pie, I need to run to the shop to get spuds, cheese, bread and crisps, all of which they do cheap in the warehouse type shop.

Need to go and see dad later, and do an online shop, and drop dd at work.

    Loved the closing ceremony, :T

Had a lovely weekrnd. Went to the Eastbourne Airshow Saturday. We went on the bus, but I walked a bit too far, and paid for it yesterday.:o

Just sat and read the papers yesterday. OH jetwashed the dedks outside, didn't realise how dirty they were:rotfl:
Sunny at the moment. Got to go to B & Q and return a second doorbell. I am very unlucky with doorbells, they keep packing up on me!

Not sure what dinner will be tonight. I HAVE to do something about my weight it is making me depressed:o I am 12 stone again, and after last years' drop I am not feeling good.

back to work today for me after a week off:cool: going with DH first to his hospital appointment to see a consultant about his vertigo.

    House tidy, washing on line.

Gintot - good luck with the food bank - there was a programme on in the week about how needed these foodbanks are nowadays even for working families!

Halight - good luck at the job centre, hope they can help you x x

RR - sounds like a busy day for you today!

We had a lovely family BBQ yesterday at my cousins:T was great to see everyone especially all the young members of the family - there's 3 under fives and they were real little stars and as good as gold!:)

Just having a quick cuppa while I wait for DH to gt home from work.

    Morning everyone,

    nlj1520 hugs to you.

Halight good luck at the job centre.

Gintot good luck collecting for the food bank.

Hilstep making the decision to lose weight is the biggest step, good luck.

    Elona happy birthday!

DS returned from his camping trip yesterday bringing with him tons of muddy washing some of which wasn't his! It must have got all mixed up in the tent. He was exhausted so I don't expect to see him till at least lunchtime.

DD1 and DD2 stayed up watching the closing ceremony last night after OH and I had gone to bed so I don't expect to see them particularly early either!

I am going to have a cup of tea and make the most of the sunshine before I get going.

Tea tonight is LO HM meatballs from yesterday so no cooking today.:D

    Have a lovely day everyone.:D

If I were 12 stone I'd be doing a dance of joy - wild horses would not drag the actual figure from me as I daren't get on a scale but well done on deciding to tackle things.

It will be worth it in the end when the room looks great.

Having a cuppa and gearing myself up for the trip out dd has promised me. Think she fancies Leeds as there is a big cinema, lots of places to eat and a good bus service. DDs have baked me a cake which is sweet of them and might defrost chicken pieces and make a curry at home tonight.

Got some more basic tea bags at Mr S yesterday and hiding them - if they don't see the label they are quite happy with them. Managed to use some of the huge bag of batter mix by making cherry clafoutis yesterday as a dessert so quite pleased with that.

Thanks for all the good wishes - I am saving good vibes for my dds job interview this morning so will be crossing fingers, toes and eyes from about 11.30.

    Hugs to all

Tappers - hope it goes ok for DH. The consultants have been a bit crap with my vertigo so far sadly.

    Raining here :(

I am also sad that the Olympics are over, loved every minute of it. I think it was brilliant how the whole country got behind Team GB. Some of last night's closing ceremony was a bit dodgy, but on the whole I like it. Highlights for me were Spice Girls, Eric Idle, Fat Boy Slim and Take That :D. Looking forward to the Paralymplics now though.

OS wise - bins put out, yday's batch cooking put in freezer, stirfry for tea already prepped, dishes to wash, need to pop to Aldi for few salady bits on way home.

    Have a good day all
