I'm of the 'show me proof and I'll believe it' persuasion.

It has been explained to me by those claiming a psychic ability, that they are able to 'tap in' to a person's energy via an object once owned by them. [Or words to that effect].

In response, I've suggested they have a feel of a painting I've got, which is signed and dated, but I've been unable to research. Although the early 20th century artist is listed (fetches £100+), little (other than their paintings) is recorded about them (even birth, census or death records).

If what they tap into is true, it should be possible to get it confirmed. However, surprisingly, no psychic I've met is willing to give it a try, which seems a little strange, if such 'powers' do exist - it would throw up some pretty convincing evidence.

I thought it worth linking the threads due to the conversation on here. If the OP on that thread is representative of the psychics on eBay then maybe eBay have even done the believers a favour.

I totally agree. Anyone who exploits the grieving or vulnerable is below contempt.

I do believe that there are some genuine people out there offering psychic services, people who believe that what they do is a gift. Whether there is anything to it, I don't know, I know that some people believe in it and if they are willing to pay for it, then no harm done.

Claiming that religions do stuff for free is very much mistaken, religions generally generate large sums of money from nothing, no need to single any religion out, all the big ones do pretty well financially.

Practicing witch here who also does readings...except I do not charge. I will ask for a cup of tea or a diet coke, though!

I have stopped someone trying to scam someone who was vulnerable. If she got hold of this elderly lady she would have cleaned her out.
