I have owned a Wimpey home and while they was on site there was no problem,as soon as they moved on any problems were ignored, secondly because of illness we had to part exchange and quickly but wanted to stay in the same estate so we did a p/x on a Wimpey apartment, the walls and floors are tissue paper,we can hear the people above urinating and defacating literally but they ignore it.It's your money but from my experience and numerous others i have been in contact with i would save your money.

The house we would be going for has solid brick walls do not worried about hearing any of that... Perhaps flats are constructed differently?

I think soundproofing in new builds are generally appalling aren't they? We have a TW house and you are right, the walls/floors are paper thin. Wouldn't like to share a house with teenagers but fine for us at moment with small kids. But, like I say, I do think it's the same with all new properties...?
Thankfully we are detached as we have noisy neighbours on one side and would hate to be able to hear them when in our house!

It's not the walls you need to worry about, more the social houses!!

People tend to care better for there property if owned rather than rented!!

I presume all the houses will be owned. Had a home report done by Taylor wimpeys guy today. Just waiting on their offer. Personally I like new builds one of my friends just bought a Taylor wimpey brand new flat and moved in 2 months ago he hasn't heard a peep outta his neighbours and people above are young.
  • Most new developments do have social housing on them. This is something that TW should tell you about when you reserve. Or look up the planning application on your council's website.

I wouldnt presume anything... if they struggle to sell the last properties they tend to sell them all off the Housing associations. Happened with my last 2 'presitigious' rental apartments by Persimmon and Bellway in an 'affluent' area of York...

We're about to exchange on a px and they offered 95% of what we were after. The extras we've got make up that 5% and probably a bit more so we're happy. We were surprised the offer was so high tbh!
