I am going to assume you are a troll seeing as this is your first post and your spelling, grammar and punctuation is so appalling.

When I was a student and went home to visit my parents I slept in the caravan in the garage and very nice it was too. My sister lived in that caravan for a couple of years as a student - that way she had some independence from our parents. And my boyfriend at the time slept in the garden shed from the age of 15 to 18 and was perfectly happy there as well.icon7.gif

I lived in a caravan for a few years...it was great!

There's a claim on here, by one of the unemployed people being interviewed that, for one of the jobs he went for, there were 16,000 applicants for 1 full time and 4 part time jobs in Hull.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-21755034

And yet the official figures suggest there are only 44 people chasing each vacancy.

    http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/Hull-hardest-city-job-44-chase-vacancy/story-16425157-detail/story.html#axzz2NS3kMZzD

I wonder which of these is the closest to the truth. With so many people out of work, (around 15,000 in Hull) I would have expected at least hundreds to apply for each vacancy.

Anyone living in a place like that facing a reduction in tax credits probably would have a really difficult time upping thier income.

some of you folk postin on here about putting kids returning to the family home for holiday in sheds or caravans. well what a bunch of morons you are. l sincerely hope one day you get put in a shed or a caravan. disgusting the lot of yer. mindless morons, call yourselves humans, i don't think so. disgusting.

I didn't see sheds suggested, did I miss it?

I did see caravans suggested and what is wrong with that? If I had space for a caravan my adult children would love to live in it, I've stayed in them when young and adored having my own space!

Many parents work long and hard hours to support their student children and to provide a space of some sort for them to come home to. Do you think it is easy having to pay top-ups to kids at university?

As for calling people mindless morons and inhuman... You may get further in life if you use the wonderful, descriptive, English language for more than just rude insults. Very childish.

I'm impressed with the parents who provide caravans for their children on their properties. I would be worried. What if it got too cold, and they were coming back into the house to get warm....and got attacked by a fox? (Possible here - they're bold as brass and just wander along the streets at night). Caravans must have changed over the years. I remember them with beds way too small and freezing cold.

As an aside, can I ask one of the regular posters if Dunroamin is Olderno.... ?

I hope it is, we rarely agreed but I really enjoyed her posts and missed her when she went.

I'm 31, if I visit my mum I have to sleep on a blow-up bed in the living-room. Seems that some people have the idea the rooms should be kept as a sort of shrine to their children.
