Husband gave up smoking yesterday

His last fag was on Tursday night. I'm so pleased, just hope he can see it through as last time he 'gave up' he only lasted an hour lol. This will deffo be a moneysaver if he can do it :)

Think the shock lead him to it, my mums in poor health at the minute she has COPD but recently been having bad chest pains. She's been admitted to hospital twice as an emergency and they've found nodules and black spot on her lung and although I dont think it is, there is a possibility pof lung cancer. Think its made hubby think about his own health
  • Good luck to your OH, I'm on my 3rd week now, cold turkey. Went out on the Friday night and got through a whole pack - was wheezing just sat still on the Saturday - thought this really isn't good and haven't had another since. Can't say I haven't missed it though but just trying to get through one day at a time.
    Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
    And now the final frame
    Love is a losing game
  • Wishing him the best of luck. I was a heavy smoker when I was much younger and really wish I could turn the clock back and not do it, especially as I'm so health conscious now.

I quit 8 years ago and it's the best thing I ever did.

I gave up aout 5 years ago and still sometimes crave them, especially when I'm really drunk.
I found that telling myself I wasn't going to have one 'yet' helped as by the time 5 minutes, my lunch break, the adverts whatever came around I'd forgotten I wanted one.

    Good luck!

If your husband finds it a struggle to give up the ciggies then I highly recommend Allen Carrs book - the easy way to stop smoking. I gave up using this book about 9 years ago. I had lots of failed attempts previously at stopping but I actually ENJOYED stopping using this book. I know at least 15 other people who have given up after reading it. Good luck to your hubbie.
My opinion is neither copyrighted nor trademarked, and it's price competitive. If you like, I'll trade for one of yours.
