Quick q - travelling hand baggage only

Edinburgh Airport security let my small nail scissors through. Dublin Airport security confiscated them on way home! Edinburgh Airport security paid no attention to small brolly in hand luggage. Dublin Airport security insisted on bag being opened and brolly being opened. Different airports seem to operate different criteria for security checks.

It is always the passenger's responsibility to get to the gate on time, security and passport control not under an airline's control. Imagine if an airline kept holding up flights because people could't be a*sed to get to the gate on time, think of the knock-on effect. :eek: I totally agree with your last bit.
