managed to knock the front garden into shape at last. although when i cut the grass there was an enormous ants nest  they were running all over when i disturbed them , anyway i have put a load of ant powder down ( dug through the ants nest and put some powder directly inside too) Ive planted some plants in the border and planted up up a few pots, it looks much better :D

off to c0stc0 to get toilet roll and tinned toms , JTF is next door so will pop in there too

need to start decluttering the kitchen , 1 cupboard at at a time lol , my plastic tubs keep falling out every time i open it :o so its time to sort it out

    WM is on

    happy birthday Lou

have a good day everyone xx
  • Good morning all,
Happy birthday Lou:bdaycake:hope you enjoy your day x
Very bright and sunny here again today. I have only just got the wm on as i haven't been up very long :o. I never usually sleep in because it gives me a headache but i do feel quite refreshed so i must have needed it.
DD has dentist today so i will pop into b&m to see if they have any offers on as it is near her dentist.
We will be going over the allotment. Need to pick the last two cauliflowers so that i can get them in the freezer. I dare say the beans will need picking again. At the moment i am picking them every three to four days. Can't complain though, the veg is filling the freezer up.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Gorgeous sunshine here, it really lifts my spirits.
1 load on line drying, next in the machine. Have just sorted through some velvet curtains I bought in an auction and am taking a couple of pairs to be cleaned. Not very OS but as they are for son's new house and they are very, very dusty, dirty and smelly I want them absolutely clean and don't trust myself not to get lazy with doing them. Even after cleaning bill they will be much cheaper than buying new.
Work was cancelled today, so am treating myself to a 'healing' day once the errands are run and the grass is cut. I shall sit in the sun and read my book. Well that's the plan, I know I need it, but am not very good at relaxing.
Have a telephone meeting with son's carers' to sort out the practicalities of his move later too. He needs to be prepared as well as all the moving of furniture and stuff. Change is very difficult for people with autism so proper preparation, warning and explanation is essential.
    Goodness I love this sunshine!
Hugs to all who are having a hard time, hope the sun shines on you.

    Morning All

Happy Birthday Lou, hope you enjoy your day.

Had to pick the South African visitors up from the station at midnight last night and then have them back there for 7.20 this morning. I didn't sleep well in between so feeling a bit washed out this morning. I am glad they are making the most of their stay, even though they are wearing me and DD out!!

WM on, kitchen wiped down and DW just about to finish. Have hoovered right through and am just going to re-blacken the fire surround now the chimney has at last been lined.

Must chase up the insurance company today and put away all the paperwork that is starting to pile up.

Great weather here again today so shall wash everything that isn't nailed down. Take care. XX
  • Check up at surgery with nurse. Apparently I have lost @ a stone and a half since Christmas. I am still grossly overweight, and I suspect all the throwing up I have been doing, and the time over Easter where I couldn't open my mouth enough to eat may have contributed. Results next week.

    Lots of hugs to all

LW - hope that Mr LW is okay!

Little bear is at out of school club. He was complaining about his leg being sore. I may have been more concerned if he hadn't been practising taekwondo kicks all the way to the school.

No idea what will be for tea, but hopefully food.

About to deep clean the living room as gas fire being fitted on Tuesday.

Hope to get some washing on the line, evil cat is very happy about piles of blankets all over in various stages of washed/unwashed.

  • Morning Guys!

Having a carp day today:( Feel rough, in pain and tired. Nurses came about 8 but they're coming back later as they are worried about me.

My helper text me to say she couldn't come today, so this meant OH and DD had to do the jobs she would usually do on top of OH being up since 4.30 working and him having to help me through the night as I had an accident. Ive already moved her money over too, so not very happy. Between them they've done 2 wash loads (another 2 to go due to incident through night:o), dishwasher, helped me shower and dress, sorted my medication, prepped dinner, breakfast, tidied kitchen and swept/mopped downstairs. Im such a nuisance!

    Hope today gets better.

Butterfly Brain - My DD was 20 last week and her room is always in a mess. I nag her to fix it for so long and then can't cope any more knowing there is such a mess in there. Tried putting all the carp on the bed so she couldn't get into bed but she just threw it all on the floor! Going to go in with bin bags one day.

Pen-Pin - You are not a nuisance. Hope your day gets better.

    Welcome to VeggieCatLady.
  • Penny-Pincher!! - you are not a nuisance, you are lovely!!!

    Good afternoon all!
Just wanted to wish Lou a happy birthday - and apologies to Tappers for missing yours - hope you had a good day!
Hester ( and others!) thanks so much for the suggestions re brushing DGD's hair - since I took on board the right way to do it she's letting me brush her hair morning and evening with minimal complaints! Won't let me plait it at bedtime tho' - but I think it's a case of choosing my battles!
Plan on taking her swimming after lunch. We went to the library first thing and she's got her silver award so is on track to complete the story lab challenge before she returns home next weekend! Still find getting her to do much in the way of maths etc. is very hard! Keep telling myself she's only five but I know her Mum is keen she does a little each day! (And I'm the retired primary HT!!!!!)
Loving the fine weather again, and hope it lasts for a few days.
Lunch is about to be whatever bits there are in the fridge, supper will be lasagne.
Sending good wishes to all who are not well or miserable for whatever reason. Take care.

Thanks for all birthday wishes. Just a quiet day but having BBQ tomorrow.

Bemused - I have a 3 yr old obsessed with maths! He is constantly counting things... Recognises numbers 0 to 12. Counts to 20. Will do simple adding ie 2 + 1 but give him letters.... He knows what letters that are in his name and that's all he cares about lol.

Not really any os these days. Just usual cleaning and cooking et just put a load of baby stuff on to wash. Looks like we may finally have a name as well. c.
