O/S Friday 10th August

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 9th August. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning All,
Am up at stupid o'clock due to the Tire place opposite. Their alarm went off at 1.30am. Couldn't see anything, and it cut off after 20 minutes. Then this other one started ( I think to tell them something else) and it hasn't stopped since! I now have a headache:eek:
Still, the sun is due today.:T

Had a problem yesterday with my Approved foods order, it was delivered to the wrong address! So was another parcel the day before. Luckily the lady who got them was able to find the invoice and phoned me, she's bringing them round today:T Thing is, we are always receiving each others' post, but she lives in Kite Close, and I live in Keats Close, but the post codes and names are nothing like each other! Delivery men obviously can't read:rotfl:

Going to Eastbourne Air Show tomorrow, so must get some carton drinks today.

((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))) if you need them.
I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Morning hilstep2000 and those who cross and follow.

I am awake early as OH and DS collided on way to bathroom this morning. DS had to leave early to deliver to Cornwall and had forgotten to set his alarm. OH always gets up at 6am.....

Had thought about going back to sleep then OH got me a cuppa but might try again in a bit. I checked in with DD in Japan as I was awake early-time difference is 8 hours at the moment-but she was going out. So...

Not much on today-washing and a sit in the garden to make the most of this lovely weather.

Tea is some sort of fish which DH will bring home and some salad I expect.

Well hugs and kind words for those in need.

LW hope Mr LW feels better soon.

    Have a good day all.

Suns out, rubbish sleep but still a nice day ahead.

Going to make a list of jobs I need to complete. Not having that visual reference means stuff doesn't get done :o

Tea tonight will be chicken stir fry.

Hugs and spoons all round xxxx

I also want to wish the lovely loulou a very happy birthday today.:beer:

    Good Morning All

    Lovely sunshine here today :j

Am in the office at the moment trying to get the essentials done quickly so I can enjoy the rest of the day. Nothing much planned, will probably be acting as a taxi for DS, DD will also need dropping at work later.

Watched the Hairy Slimmers last night - I could watch them all the time they make me :D. They have inspired me to make Tandoori Chicken tonight think will have with vegetable rice.

Hope you all have a great Friday.x

    morning!

I'm back from my first camping trip in Tarquin:)

It was very interesting:cool: the campsite was rather basic - the showers were in the barn(although on the plus side I could see the swallows nesting and see their babies:T) and the toilets were in a sort of a shed that you shared with slugs at night:eek: having said that they were clean:D The field was lovely and quiet though and not too far to walk to the sea. We've decided we may need an awning as when it rained it was rather cramped.

I did enjoy it though and hardley spent anything so it is definitely a cheap holiday especially if you cook instead of eating out.

I hope everyone here is keeping well:)

    Plans for today are

    Shopping list

Mountains of washing and ironing(so glad its good weather)

House is clean as I did it yesterday

Just general pottering then and catching up plus I'm collectin Mum off the train - she's stopping up here with her sister for a few days, family bbq on Sunday and then they are taking Mum to see Dirty Dancing in Birmingham.
    Back to work Monday:cool:

Happy Birthday Lou - hope you have a fab day :bdaycake:

    Take care all x x
    Do what you love :happyhear

    Morning all
Sun's out, I've showered & shaved, lol, made a cuppa & now hubby's up & waiting for his breakfast.
Work today, I didn't make it yesterday as new sofa was delivered & DD2 wanted my old ones, total chaos all day.
I'm still filling in forms to train for new job, still trying to clear junk & I'm hoping to get into town to buy some vacuum storage bags (thanks for all the suggestions as to where to buy them from) as it's the only way I am going to get a quart (my sewing rom) into a pint pot (under my bed).
I have a couple of hours caring for DD1's emergency placement as she needs to take her 'babies' to the pictures.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning everyone,

    Judi hugs for you.

Get well soon Mr LW and hugs for LW.

RR hugs for DD and her Dad.

    BB Hugs.

    Loulou Happy birthday.

Taplady glad you had a good holiday.

That is a lot of hugs today, sorry if I have missed someone.

It is a lovely sunny day here again today. I am taking DD1 to the doctors again this morning to have her ear checked out again, it is still hurting her after over a month.
Then it is back for more gardening and probably some more Olympics, wasn't Bolt fantastic last night? and I loved the way he had a chat with the helper at the end of his lane before he ran.:D

Tea tonight is probably HM pizza but I may make curry as we have had a predawn delivery of samosa and pakora from our
lovely friends down the road who are observing Ramadan. I woke up to find a carrier bag of food hanging on the front door handle.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

  • Hello everyone. It's my first time posting on here!

It's lovely and sunny here today. I've got to pop into town to pick up a prescription, return something to m&s and take a bag of stuff to a charity shop. I've decided to have a NSD today, which will be challenging seeing as I'm going into shops! But I already have my weekly bus pass, so won't have to pay for that. I have been spending on things I don't need recently, so want to throw myself in at the deep end today! I'm planning on having 2-3 NSDs every week now. I'll see how it goes. I find coming on here and reading your posts gives me that extra motivation boost, so thank you all :-)

Not sure what I'll be having for dinner tonight, but I have plenty of food in the cupboards from my AF delivery a couple of weeks ago!

I hope you all have a good one :-) x

Welcome VeggieCatLady hi-103.gif phew think we will have to abbreviate it to VCL ;):D

I have just put the first of many wash loads on the line and the second is in and nearly finished, all the bedding was done yesterday.
DH has gone off to work, DS has just got out of his pit and DD is at her BF's. DD is going to get it in the ear when she gets home about the state of her room, she is 23 on the 21st and there is no excuse for it, I used to go in and do it for her, but she moaned, so now I leave it to her....It drives me mad knowing that rooms are not clean and tidy  :wall:

DH starts his holibobs from tonight :jso we are going to try to get away for a few days.

Well I had better get on that load has finished so I must put another one on.
Have good days all BFN x
