Mossy - with regards to some people stocking up, here is a link that explains it http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2194436/Family-food-bills-soar-British-shoppers-face-paying-bread-pasta-meat-devastating-drought-ravages-crops-U-S.html#ixzz24owtJLZW
Also wanted to say, good luck with the watch, sounds a lovely idea
Thanks for that link SD, i will buy some extra bags of pasta, spaghetti and meat (if the budget will allow) this month.
How long do they think this 'increase due to the drought' will last? I am woindering if its just another reason for a permanent increase! Things are tight enough as it is!!
Earned £25 today from selling my older sons school uniform from last year, and a Ben10 dressing up outfit of my younger sons that he has grown out of.
I could have been very sensible and put it all in the bank (like i did with the £85 i earnt last week), but i treated me and the kids to a macdonalds and some sweets (and me a bottle of wine).
Wont be counting that in my GC budget, as its seperate money. I have made quite a bit in the last few weeks by selling stuff we longer need or want0 -
Had my first spend of September....yes I know its still August but needs must etc., spent €9.97 on butter, stork, lentils and tinned potatoes.

Hi everyone,
First spends of September for me today. Total includes £33.50 to second purse and £78.83 to MrT. Needed a fair few cleaning items which always bumps the price up
DH payday today and got a little extra. Bought a new bed for our dog as it's his birthday tomorrow (the dog NOT DH)

Hi
The last couple of months I have come in under budget:rotfl:
so I am going to shave a little off my target this month. Can I please be put down for £150 for September please (sorry but since getting this computer my making words larger/
coloured thingy won't work)
I hope everyone is feeling well and are nicely stocked up. Autumn doesn't feel far away this morning so the wooly jumpers and soups and stews will be back soon (I quite like autumn, not so keen on winter though)
Anyway better get on
Have a good day everyone
Cuddles:)

Should be a no spend day today as a good start to the month, although I am doing some baking later and I haven't checked my egg stocks yet but £1.20 a dozen from the local farmer won't make too much of a dent in the budget.
Vegetarian Chilli for tea as I have some free 5 Beanz to use up.Thank-you to everyone who posts comps :beer:0 -
Didn't get a chance to post yesterday, but I spent another £12.32 on "unnecessary" bits and pieces. A slip back into old ways, and one I regret.
Oh well, done and dusted. These items weren't on my shopping list, but DH had the possibility of needing some "ready meals" and I didn't have any homemade ones in as I was running down the freezer. Now, he doesn't need them and I've got them sat in the fridge *sigh*.
On a better note, I made tomato, bacon and sausage risotto (or my take on one) last night. I didn't really expect it to go down too well with DH, but he liked it and asked for seconds. It was fairly cheap too.
Pastitsio tonight, and I don't particularly need to buy anything. Hoping for an NSD today. Have a good day, everyone.

Hi all, time for me to return to the fold after 6 weeks off. We have 20  coming round tonight for a bit of an end of summer celebration so will start tomorrow! We decided on cheese & wine for tonight thinking it would be a cheap option and so today will be spent making desserts, yum!
I usually have a budget of £260 a month but for Sept am going to increase that to £300 (although I'll be cross if I do spend that much!!). I'll record my spends in my sig.
Can't believe it's September, dreading the early morning dog walks in the dark, but not as much as I'm dreading trying to get us all back to school/work on time on Tuesday!
Have a fab weekend everyone.:)Make £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020
