An NS weekend here, grocery wise. Am hoping we won't need anything all week. We have about 7 pints of milk, the kids are at nursery and will be eating there for next 3 days, and the freezer is fit to burst.

When is October? Another full week I think. We perhaps will need more milk then...

  • Just had my mr a order delivered. I did an 8-hour window so it was only £2.50, and I had one substitution. I paid £2.88 for £6.56' worth of beef!! I ordered the smart price one and received a normal mr a one, worth more than twice as much! Result!

Although I'm only working part time at the moment, I'm trying really hard to change my shopping mentality. If I'm actually in the shop, I can't resist things, and overbuy. By doing a delivery, I save loads of money, plusi can use the app and add to it throughout the week. Spent £32 this week, hadn't been since tues and shan't need to go this week again...

We'll see if it works! Then I can overpay even more on my mortgage as I'm not wasting it on food!

Thanks jumblejack, i'm good, back on track 100%. My aim this month is to finall come in under budget. Definately doign better than when i joined. I'm not doing any "big" shops this month, as i have 30+ dinners frozen so wont need any of the bulky cupboard things, i am however going to still do my bread and milk run to to cash and carry as it's just so so handy to have it all in the freezer ready to stop those whoopsies when i pop to get bread and milk. I will only shop for lunch things, fridge fruit and veg etc.

    Katy, X

I reckon you will do it this month!!

Especially if your new 'friend' treats you to the odd meal or two ;)

Looks like things are definitely taking an upturn. The HM meals in the freezer will give you a cracking start too. Well done, girl :T

Ive had sunday lunch at the inlaws today and will be stretching the leftover mushy pea curry with some other small portions of various curries that were saved in the freezer with a couple of YS peshwari naans for supper. Mmmmmm :)

Have a pleasant evening folks :)

    Grocery Spend Weekly Challenge (Sat-Fri):£30.50/£40
  • 26p on fri, £11.14 in Mr A on sat and £9.90 today.

Was trying to be super good but unfortunately forgot a couple of things so will have more small spends this week...
  • Evening all

Spend of £32 yesterday in M&S however i used up a gift voucher i had been given by work last Xmas, so i am not counting it as spends as it was free money. Now i didnt really get a lot for my money but i do now have 5 pieces of salmon and 6 chicken breasts. So a good few meals there. Have got about 6/7 HM frozen ready meals already so will do me until the weekend. So apart from some fruit and veg this week, shouldn't come in too much over budget. :j which i am pleased with as had a difficult start to the month.

    £425/£350

Clearly it's not gone as well as I hoped but a lot lower than it would have been at one time :o. My current budget allows £450 but I am tring to reduce to £350. I will try again next month. Off to join in the shiny new October thread!

  • A £2.80 spend in Tesco. Milk, cornflakes and chocolate mousses. And HOPEFULLY, that's me done with the necessities for the month! I have meals planned up until Thursday, Friday is a meal out, as is Sunday.

Saturday is my birthday, so the remaining £15.06 of this months budget will be used to buy some special yums to enjoy during the day. :)
Because it's fun to have money!

    £68.35/£70 July GC
    January-June 2019 = £356.94/£420
  • Tuna pasta bake for dinner tonight as mondays & tuesday require quick dinners!

Just wondering, does anyone else run with calendar months or am I gonna be all on my lonesome by the end of this week?
