  • at a first sight these things, the list, and all that preparetion stuff - look scary but as long as we talk about weddings these things should not be consdiered too scary.. of course the event requires a lot of work but if you think you are not able to do that simply hire a planner

There is lots to think about. We were hoping to get married in December 2013 on a weekend but a big stumbling block seems to be that the venues all save their weekends for Xmas parties so we may have to alter it to late November.

Are we weird in that we don't want a wedding breakfast? I don't like being the centre of attention so speeches and so forth are not something I want to have to worry about. We want a late afternoon wedding at the registry office with just immediate family, followed by a party at a nearby hotel so that we may celebrate with our friends. No idea as yet what the costs involved will be. We're budgeting for around £5000.

Not at all, there's no such things as a 'normal' wedding, you do what you want to do and it's YOUR wedding.

We're getting married at 4 with around 25 people, then having drinks and canapes until 7 when we're going somewhere else for a big party.

No speeches, no cake cutting, no photography, no first dance. I don't think it's weird because it is so US.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

Thank yiou. I'm glad it's not just me. My OH wants to do cake cutting, I'm not sure why but I'm already dreading that. I'll do it because it's what he wants and he's been quite easygoing about everything else but it's when to do it really, at what point do you cut cake during a party?

I think our wedding arrangements sound very similar to yours otherwise, no stress and doing what you like rather than what is expected.
  • Help!!
I am getting married in cuba next february, only 6 guests will be coming.
I am planning to have an evening do with just a buffet for when we return.
How long should I leave having the do? we come back from Cuba on 18th Feb - I was sort of thinking end of March to mid April - do you think this is too late to have one???
  • Anyone used these for a wedding? I Was going to just leave on the tables? So am looking to buy 24 cameras and any ideas for processing would be greatly appreciated.
Online costs about 1.99 but no mention of developing them.
    Help!
    Thanks in anticipation.

  • I was also planning on getting a planner until I stumbled across this free online event planning site called Mi Big Day. (just search mibigday on Google) I found it very useful to plan and organise our wedding but it can also be used to plan any events. I found the site very easy to use and with it being online I don't need to worry about taking my book with me everywhere.

Hi, sorry to butt in! Congratulations! I just wanted to say that personally i would want it only upto a couple of weeks from returning from your wedding and honeymoon so the excitement of your wedding will still be there from you and your family and friends. My Auntie did this the week after she got married and got back from her honeymoon, and it was all still very fresh in ppls minds.
