If anyone is thinking about the intinerary for their wedding day I found some useful online planners.
Basic planner: http://www.frugalbride.com/schedulefortheday.html
Fantastic planners that you can download: http://blissweddings.com/
I'm getting married in August 2009. Our wedding planner (comes with the venue) is really organised and already wants a draft intinerary and our menu choices. I'm drawing up a planner in Exel and will post it here in a few months once its in better shape.
Hope this is helpful.0 -
I found that we were also able to book everything (and on a Saturday) with less than a year to go. However, we are going down a slightly unconventional route and having a wedding at the register office (beautiful room though) and the reception in a bar/restaurant.0

Wow, wedding is not just getting married.... so many things to take care of and arrange for. Just by thinking these things it makes me not to get married LOL. But I am sure if we get a good planner then it won't be that hard...0

Noticed a few people mentioning websites with budget planners. If you have Microsoft Office you can easily do your own planner. Open up excel click on the office button at the top right then on the drop down menu click NEW and templates should be listed click on BUDGETS several will be listed in the next box 1 of which is WEDDING BUDGET it's very simple with a column for estimated cost's & actual costs (if I can do it anyone can) It is so helpful for keeping a track of things, it's too easy for spending to spiral without realising.
I hope this was helpful to someone, and I apologise if my instructions are rubbish. I'd been bugging my oh to do a spreadsheet for me for almost a month (he works in account's) then the other night he said there is probably a template on there do this that & the other and tadah I did it:jBooo!!!0 -
I actually use a spreadsheet myself - the budget planner was too basic for me , but then i'm thinking of using ms project to make a whole project paln for my wedding!!!
..the website is a good started place though as the first list I wrote was rubbish and missed off a lot of important things, i went on confetti and used their planner and the moved it to excel, now my spreadsheet is massive lolHad a thrifty wedding 17-06-10

When you consider your wedding, think of the future. If you want a 'theme' (Star Trek, Star Wars, LOTR, etc.), take especial care, as you may find in the future that you cringe at the thought of your photos, let alone the look of them.
Likewise with ultra-fashionable dresses, makeup, etc. If you have a local Image Consultant, it's not a bad idea to go for a consultation, Not all colours suit everybody, and white in particular is a hard colour for many to wear sucessfully, Off-white, cream, ivory and parchment shades are softer on the skin tone, also easier to coordinate other colours with. Makeup shades and dress styles and fit can also be discussed with an Image Consultant. Nothing looks worse than a too-tight wedding dress straining at the seams. If it's tight it will make you look larger.
Nowadays there are wonderful shades available for both brides and bridesmaids, and much nicer styles than in days gone by.
( I am a retired Image Consultant, and I used to specialise in Weddings, Proms, and special Occasions. I no longer give consultations.)

The most crucial thing for a newly engaged couple to do is get organized. A good wedding planner will help you figure out month-by-month what you need to accomplish, so that you won't find yourself completely overwhelmed only weeks before the big day..... thanks for the tips friend.............0
