I do not like the takeaway from the machines as it does not taste the same.
    Or, indeed, of coffee!

I usually get the tea, but I did try the latte once, and it was awful. It's never the same out of a machine, I have the same issue with it in the ASDA cafe too.

Also, half a shot of coffee? You might as well just have the hot milk with no coffee!

I often ask for just hot milk - most serve me without question, but when they do question it I say it's a Latte without the coffee - cheaper for you and healthier for me...

Agree. I find it's just about platable when made with full-fat milk which they'll do on request at their Oxford Street Food Hall

I thought that in another store recently as it was the cup that was given to me to use at the machine that was smaller (just a bit bigger than an expresso cup!). I suppose their rational would be that it is free!

I recently discovered I could pay for a large latte (30p) in the cafe rather than purchase anything else in order to sit in... I can have a one shot latte and sit in comfort reading the newspapers.

Ah, means no free coffee for me: I'm lactose intolerant. I can't have dairy and unless they offer soya milk it'll be a black tea or coffee which really isn't so good.
I went into my local Waitrose today and noticed that they had soya milk next to the self service machine. :)

It's a bit annoying I can no longer get my mocha from the cafe. :(

I know this might be old news to some, but just reading this thread.

A purchase in the cafe can be the upgrade from regular to large drink or a banana. Both cost 25p. So you can get a drink for as little as 25p. You can also get takeaway from the cafe which is good for people like me who only drink decaf (the machines don't do decaf).
