Other than that no problems.
There's a primary school about 200-300 yards up from my house - the only time I ever notice it is if I have a day off work and am trying to have a lay in with the windows open. I have off road parking so no issues there.0 -

That's why I differentiated it from 'normal noise', i.e. generally background noise of everyday life.
Sorry thought you ment normal children noise

At a place I lived at once, I was often woken up by lots of sex noise from next door.0

The house where I grew up was quite near (note - nowhere near next door ) to the playground of the local school. The noise was horrendous at break times and used to stop me sleeping after a night duty.
I think you need to think this through very carefully.0 -

No but could be why the primary school is needed

My friend lives about 5 doors down from the primary school we both work at and is really fed up with inconsiderate people parking over and opposite their drive. She says the noise aspect doesn't bother them. As a school we have sent out numerous letters asking parents to be considerate, but there is just no telling some people, who could easily park slightly further away and use their legs a little more!0

Wouldn't there be a lot of noise from the coffin?I used to live in a village, and 2 doors away from a graveyard, it was very quiet there:DThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I live next door to an Infant/Primary school at the moment.....what I would say to you is, DO NOT DO IT!
You would imagine by leaving my house at 6.30am and coming home at 5.30pm it wouldn't cause any issues...BUT....there are constant social/school events, parents evenings etc. They also hire out the hall for Gym/weight loss classes and for PARTIES! Our road is constantly filled with park cars, we have no drive so have to also fight for parking. My husband has got into arguements with parents trying to bully us out off spaces.
It is a nightmare, and would never buy near a school again!0 -

I think this is sort of the definitive answer I was looking for! Definitely taken into account everyone elses replies too though. I dont think we will go and look at it anymore, it might be perfect but I want to buy and stay there for a long time - so I dont want to risk it being too noisy.
Thanks everyone x0 -

is that a problem? (is the road particularly narrow?)0
