I would go for whatever I liked most, in the higher price range that I wouldn't normally consider.

I had £200 to spend on Converse from a prize recently, as I like converse I ended up paying £3 extra as I didn't want to miss out on any of my prize, 4 pairs of Converse trainers and 2 Converse bags for £3 was a steal :D
and i thought my beat the bidder converse for 56p prize was amazing , im well jel now

I would pick something I liked over picking something expensive for the sake of it :-)

If we're talking morals, what are people's opinions on the 'big' winners (such as the ITV comps, luxury holidays, tens of thousands of pounds etc) then going on to enter more competitions after the initial win? I was discussing this with my comping friend last week, and we both agreed that if we won a large prize, we'd give up comping, as we'd consider that our allotted 'luck', if you will, and would rather less fortunate people had a chance to win something. I wouldn't want to claim more than I felt I deserved. Absolutely no offence meant to people who carry on comping! Just throwing it out there as I am interested in people's opinions.

Sorry if the op feels I hijacked their thread, but I do think it's a valid (related) point. :)
i would carry on comping because , there is always going to be something bigger and better and its down to luck

  • Well then I'd have no problem with that, as you actually WANT the product, lol. I don't see an issue of morals there :)

It depends so much on what was on offer. If it was something I wanted that was lower priced, I might well go for that. On the other hand if it was something much more expensive that I could sell easily I would do that with no guilt or qualms. I might even then buy the cheaper item I wanted. I don't have a problem with people doing whatever they want re comping and prizes. We each have our own morals and conscience, and most do what they believe to be ethical. That's as it should be and nobody here should be bullied or shamed into behaving according to other people's principles.

Interesting debate, wonder where it will go.

ok if you won a competition where the prize was win your choice of something from a particular collection and prices range from about £60 -£250
would you feel guilty or think its morally wrong to get something at the top end or would you go for something lower down the pricing scale?

i'd just pick the prize which i realy wanted regardless of the
    value
