Yodel-Forged signature

Hi

Am looking for some advice re the above useless delivery company.

My partner ordered some wire value £40 online which was supposed to be delivered by Yodel yesterday to a business address.

I waited until 5pm and left the office. At this time there was 20 other people to sign for a delivery. The office closed for the day at 5.30 the gates were locked and everyone went home. (Have checked this)

Imagine my suprise that I see I apparently signed for this parcel at 18.19 at the office! By 6pm I was home!! I have looked everywhere outside of the office but this parcel is no where to be seen!!

So they have a forged POD and I have no parcel.

Am I able to claim for the cost of this parcel around £40? If they dont pay this is it worth taking them to court. They have no idea how angry I am about this!

Any advice you can give me would be apreciated. Thanks

Sarah

Similar thing happened to me once. The driver just signed for it and delivered it the next day.

Give Yodel a call and ask them where it's gone.

Custardy thanks for the reply, claiming is a last resort just wanted to know if it was possible.

My partner has contacted them, they told him the same thing, signed for by me at 18.19 which was impossible. They have told him they are going to contact the driver within the next 4 hours but doing approx 70-80 drops a day I cant see him/her remembering it.

I have looked everywhere around the office and there is nothing here.
I work in the middle of nowhere so there are no other houses around that could have taken this parcel in.

I have told my partner that when they finally contact him to obtain a copy of the POD, after this I dont know!

Sadly it's a fairly typical and frequent occurrence. Have been there and now refuse to order anything that uses Yoda for delivery (some Amazon for example) Just do a google or search on here to find multiple examples of the same!

It used to raise my blood pressure too, really infuriating that they can be allowed to do this, however if you get in touch you will eventually get it sorted out. One item I ordered had been shoved in a hedge (after the packet had been partially opened) another left in the back of a neighbours derelict pickup, another driver swore he left it here and even described my door (nothing like it!). All signed for by me apparently! In the end I found it best to drive to their office and pick the item up.

Won't use them again, I always check delivery company now and have sometimes had to explain that I can't do business with someone who uses Yoda. Although they're the worst, other delivery companies aren't squeaky clean either.

If you ring up and explain, your item can be mysteriously found frequently!

yup, could be as simple as the driver closing the track to meet their targets.

Similar sort of thing happened to me but it was with Hermes. Husband was in all day in front room, I got home, no parcel, checked online tracking, "Signed for by customer." We found the parcel had been chucked over our back fence and was nestled amongst the bins. Couldn't ring hermes to complain, but rang the delivering company who confirmed that there was no signature and he had just done a fake scrawl. I don't know if it's the same with Yodel, but would interesting to see if they log the signatures.

Best bet ringing Yodel and the company who you ordered the goods from if Yodel are unhelpful.

Partner did call Yodel and was told to expect a call within 4 hours - that was 6 hours ago and still waiting.
Problem is the wire that was being delivered was needed for today, thats why it was sent on a 24 hour delivery (which cost us more) we are now even more out of pocket as have had to buy the item from the shop. Which perhaps he should have done in the first place!
I am going to email them and ask for a copy of the POD, then go from there.

Just cancel the order under DSRs; and do it now.

If it does arrive (and you are present) then refuse delivery as the order has been cancelled. If for some reason you DO receive the package then contact the seller and advise them you will make the package available for collection.

Whilst this may seem slightly unfair on the seller, as it is Yodel who have failed to perform, it is VERY unfair on you! And after all the seller DID choose to use Yodel.

Many couriers work way past 5.30pm,so key that into plans for ordering

We did realise this but yodel themselves told us as it was going to a business address it would be delivered before 5.
