    Hi everyone.

Isn't it lovely to see the sun? I ought to be doing washing but the forecast is brilliant for the next few days so am planning on waiting till I have a bit more in the laundry basket.

Had all sorts of plans for today but we have had three lots of visitors, the last ones have just gone. Do other people get this or is it just the result of living in a church house? It's lovely to see folk and the kettle is always on but sometimes I get a bit desperate when I have a lot to do.

Intend to spend the afternoon ironing - a great way to spend a holiday this is!

Tomorrow I'm back to sewing covers for pew cushions so there won't be much time for doing anything else.

Cheapskate: I also find I am still bank-rolling my kids, (both in their 40s). One of them has always been hopeless with money in spite of my best efforts but the other has been fine till recently. I know things are tough but they always have been as far as I'm concerned and now I should be just having to look after myself I am still bailing them out. Stupid Mother - I keep telling myself that they aren't my responsibility any more but I guess I will feel that they are until I am 6 feet under.

Judi: Insensitive husbands and difficult sons. I've had both and my heart goes out to you. Mind you, I shed the Husband and Oh! the relief.
Self healing is good but use your friends for support as well. x

The Rev wants to know when lunch is so I'd better get off here.

    "shalva,
i always look forward to your posts from your country - i really would never have thought about the sand and sun ruining your clothes when you put them out.
have you always lived there. its wonderful for me to hear about your way of life because i (wrongly) assume that most people on here are from the uk. its great hearing your temperatures. i think today here will be about 24and i wont be able to stand that!!
    nice to know you:)"

wuvvies...........thanks for asking.....Im actually from the uk and my family are still there......have been here since my early twenties and have now lived here more years then in the uk......I still feel very english here but when I go "home" to the uk I feel quite Israeli IYKWIM......sometimes I dont know where I really belong...

glad the sun is shining for some of you .I just went to meet my sil and the coffee house on the mainroad near us as she was in the middle of her journey........as I came home[it was 3pm] I noticed the cars temp. gauge showing the outside temp. as 44c:eek:.........

Just a quick post, as I'm cream crackered as been awake all last night.

QUICK QUESTION - am I right in thinking I need to use cold water to wash out blood? My instinct is to use a very hot wash, to kill any bugs, but I seem to remember hot will fix bloodstains. Or is the brainfog playing me false?

Doctor has been and examined Mr LW; thinks he has an infection. Anti-flybotics prescribed. I won't go into the "fun" I had going into town by myself to get them because Mr LW can't move more than 10 feet from the bathroom:eek::eek::eek: Or the hilarity of getting royally lost driving the 2 miles home from town - Mr LW gave me detailed instructions to get there, but omitted to give be details of the route home. I'd thought I was retracing my route - I wasn't!

I hope to all the gods these tablets do the trick, and that it is "just" an infection - there was some mention of surgery when he initially spoke to the duty doctor on the phone this morning.:(:(:(

He hasn't eaten for 2 days - I've told him to let me know the minute he feels up to food. He's drinking loads of tea - no milk, he's not allowed dairy with these tablets, but he has green tea, or Earl Grey without milk; so he's at least getting some liquid in him. Oh, and he's had Luc0zade, too.

Anyways enough about me and mine - (((HUGS))) where needed today - Judi, RR + Dad, Wuvvies and probably a whole raft of other people, but the brainfog has set in now, and names escape me.

    Afternoon everybody,

I'm making the most of this good weather with the washing, even the dog blankets have been washed :rotfl:I'm just having a cuppa.then I was going to do some weeding,DH bought a new tool for getting weeds out of block paving, but I've looked in the shed and garage and its not there so it must be in the van still

DN rang and asked if I wanted to go to Mr S with her,so jumped at the lift. She didnt have DGN with her,he'd gone for a sleep and SisIL was at home.Seemed strange without him.She only wanted nappies and a few bits,so I rushed round like a mad thing, and did all mine and we ended up at the tills together. She put hers through first, and got a price diff coupon for £3 odd so she gave it to me :jNormally she would come in for a drink, but thought she'd better get back with her mum holding the fort.

We are having an unexpected visit later from DGD:j-normally DS goes to see her at her Mums/Nannas on a Thurs, but they are going out so asked if she could come here- I'm not complaining:D
I've got beef & chorizo stew in the sc,got 2 packs ys from the butchers counter, but I think we'll have that tomorrow, got fish cakes for tonight,& salad.
    Halight-hope your advisor is nice
Judi-I really feel for you in your situation regarding your sons,v difficult to deal with (((Hugs)))
Long may the sun last;though Shalva ,you have put a different perspective on it,bet you'd like some rain :rotfl:.It is the little snippets like you using the TD and why that make OS so interesting to read, getting a different outlook from other peoples lives :)

LW-sorry to hear OH is ill and you've had difficulties, hope you're ok.I would rinse/soak with cold water,I think you are right that hot fixes the stain, you can always put it through a hot wash once the blood is out.
Just done a quick googl-it is cold, and the quicker you do it the better.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

  • Cold water and rub salt into the blood, if you can, that should fetch it off. Otherwise disolve the salt in the water and put the what evere it is into the salt water.
