Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 9th August. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
I've been up since 4:30, too many things running through my mind, so I got up loaded the DW & WM & set them going, I'm in an end of terrace & they are both on the outside wall so they won't disturb the neighbours.
DD1 phoned last night after the children were in bed, just to let me know how things were with her.
I'm going to work for a few hours again today, stupid waste of time as there is nothing I can do there but I have to do my contracted hours. I may go inti town after work, I need some plant spikes & a few other bit & pieces.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning all,
Looks like a nice day here, I am off to work, once I have dropped the dog at my mums and dd at work.
Dinner tonight will be scampi (bogof) and chips, dd will have quorn nuggets. I have Mr T delivering, and will do a wash and get that on the line, its meant to be really hot the next few days.
Hester, I really hope your dd is ok and safe, bless her trying to do something good, and getting nothing but hassle for it

Morning everyone,
Hester I hate wasting time, can't you take some knitting with you?
Judi how are things going?
BB hugs for you.
Hugs for LW.
JackieO reading your posts makes me wish that we lived nearer to my parents. We are going to see them next week by which time my mum will hopefully have had the cast taken off her leg and will be a bit more mobile.
Up early as OH is off to work and his alarm has woken me.
Taking DD2 for a piano lesson this morning and then it is back to the gardening. Did the lawn and the hedge yesterday and it looks loads better already.
The sun is shining here and it looks like summer has finally arrived.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -

I am in bed with the lappie and a cuppa. Plans for the day include washing and keeping up with volunteer offers for the food collection at a local supermarket on Monday as I am supervising the morning shift. Tea will be chilli for us and spag bol for DS.
Had a nice chat with DD on Skype yesterday before I rushed off to the foodbank. she has been on a girlie trip to Hawaii with some friends and had great time. she had American food, bought undies and medicine she can't get in Japan and spent time sunning herself on the beach and snorkelling. She missed her OH though and was glad to be back with him.
Well have a good day all and hugs and kind words to all who need them.

Morning Hester and all
Sea mist here today, but expected to go soon. Had a lovely day with DD and SIL yesterday. DGD was a nightmare at one point. She keeps screaming when either she can't get her own way, or Mum is not picking her up:mad: I took the pushchair from DD while she went into Matalan, and DGD screamed and wriggled in her pushchair. (That was hard getting her in it!) In the end I crouched down and told her if she stopped screaming and sat quietly we would find Mummy, and she did. She may be only two, but she's not stupid, she knows what she is doing:o Dad is strong with her, but Mum gives in. I have told her that she has to nip it in the bud now, or we will have a brat on ou hands:rotfl: DGD was perfect from then on! People were giving us awful looks, but I didn't care, DGD was NOT getting away with it when I was there!:rotfl:
Got to decide what to have for dinner yet.
Oh yes, SIL has an interview with Argos next Friday, fingers crossed!
Have a good day all!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Morning all from sunny Yorkshire
WM on with load #1, DS (20) will have to put out load #2 as I'll be off to work by the time it's done, littlies going to their grown-up cousin's for the day, she has a little girl same age as DS (5) so they play ok together.
Freezer tea for everyone, taking something for the kids to cousin's, DH and I will eat later when I'm home and they're in bed.
Bank account gone right down this week as we ended up lending DD £170, which we could ill afford, looks like I was right when I said that! Now down to £140 until DH pays himself next Tues or Weds, will have to raid my £2 jar to leave money in bank intact! Bl00dy kids!
Have a good day all, hope everyone has a bit of sun, lots of love and hugs to those with much bigger problems than me!
