Tried to take some shoes back for refund or credit note today but because receipt is lost they would only exchange. Had nothing in my size (feet have swollen) and because i'm pregnant none of their clothes fit either (no maternity wear in store) so nothing i could swap for.
Not our fault you're pregnant and we dont do credit notes said the customer services man
They can see they've not been worn as still covered in tags and stickers. was just his attitude really upset and annoyed me :mad::mad:
Wouldnt even let me swap for baby stuff as not in the same department.....

Well what he said is true..
If you don't have the receipt they don't know how much you paid for them... for all you know you bought them in a sale and now trying to get the full price back.0 -
Without the receipt, they had no obligation to do anything to be honest.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I understand they have no obligation just annoyed and upset. the shoes are a new range so they know full well they've never been in the sale. I almost always keep my receipts and have a pile of them in a tin. just couldnt find this one.Last bet : 26th Oct 2006:j Debt free 25th Feb 2008:j Living "my" dream:T0

Just save them for when you've had the baby and feet return to normal. Can't think of many retailers that offer refunds without receipts. Allowing you to exchange in the same dept sounds more than fair.0

i would have thought clothing was all one department though. oh well. nothing i can do about it now. i'll just keep and hope they fit next year.Last bet : 26th Oct 2006:j Debt free 25th Feb 2008:j Living "my" dream:T0

or even if the items actually WERE paid for and not lifted.
I'm NOT saying they WERE stolen - but this is why stores have these policies.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Feel sorry for you OP. The amount of rubbish and broken stuff i have binned over the years is shocking. I hardly ever keep receipts and should no better at my age.0
