Well it's really only £123 (+£15 delivery) if you take HD pack at £10.25/month, then cancel it after a year. or you can go the e-bay route.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

My old Sky+ was progressively getting slow too for no apparent reason. Also had a HD failure at one point and had to reset the box and update the software to get things going again.
A friend was selling his old Sky+HD box so I bought it off him and only just got around to installing it. The swap was pretty straight forward and the old card worked without any pairing being done. I'm not sure if this was temporary or not, but was a bit surprised.
I eventually had to call SKY a couple of days later to properly pair the card and the box to get back recording facilities. Was quick and no hassle at all. I didn't fancy paying the extra £10 HD pack for the privilege of watching the same channels in HD and a new 12mth contract.0
