No the LSO1 is only if you don't have the old passport - you won't be able to get a passport in 3 weeks unless you submit it at your local office using the Fast-track service (guaranteed delivery within 1 week) or the Premium Service (guaranteed to collect in 4 hours)
The Fast-track service is £112.50 and the Premium Service is £129.50
You will have to make an appointment for these services through the call centre - the number is 0300 222 0000
There are offices in London, Peterborough, Belfast, Liverpool, Durham, Glasgow and Newport. Call as soon as possible as appointments are all being filled quickly. They are open Saturdays and some offices are opening this Sunday0 -
cheapest option as I am NOT in urgent need of it.
I also need my passport for I.D for a new job I start in end of august. Is it possible to to get the passport done in 3 weeks???
First you said you weren't in urgent need of it, then that you need if for the end of August?
Processing times seem to be 4-6 weeks at the moment0 -
I find it bizarre that you need a passport to leave this country. What if you couldnt afford one? surely as a freeman of the land,an independent human being, you can come and go as you please?Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

You don't need a passport to leave this country, you need it (or other suitable ID) to enter another country.0 -

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard that it's the carrier's (i.e. plane/train or whatever mode of transport) responsibility that if you can't enter the country you're travelling to they have to pay for you to be sent back.
So it would be best to stop you from boarding the plane/train at the start rather than arriving at your destination to find you can't enter and have to pay the expense of sending you back home.0 -

They don't have to pay to send the passenger back, that responsibility remains with the "alien/ illegal". However the airline may be fined by the receiving country - I'm not sure how much the fine would be, but probably more than a return ticket.
Here is an example from Australia:

If you couldn't afford the £77 for 10 years then you are fairly unlikely to be able to afford the ticket either. Was this an entry for ridiculous comment of the decade or just a simple wind up?0 -
you wont be able to recognise me in the old passport, thats from many YEARS ago, when i was 15 now, im 32. I still have that OLD passport. Do I still need to fill and LS01 form?
You still need to fill out the normal passport application form and send the old passport with your application. If you cannot be recognised from the photo in your old passport you will have to get the new photos countersigned.I also need my passport for I.D for a new job I start in end of august. Is there no other form of ID they would accept? If you don't already have a driving licence you may be able to get a provisional licence in 3 weeks - would they accept that?Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -

I was pretty sure they had to in America at least? (Not specifically pay as such, but they have to take the passenger back on their next flight out).0 -

Indeed..but why would i need one? I am a human being,a citizen of planet earth,a free person. Did the Romans need a passport to come to England? No...so if i go down to dover and row across the channel,it should be ok shouldnt it?Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry).
