...and on this note my sister had an uninvited guest...who even stood in the pictures outside the church...none of us realised until she got the photos back and we still dont know who they were but they have quite a prominent prescence in most of the group shotsfrugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0 -
We had 4 no shows, 1 I knew about the day before but I was furious with them all as not only was it wasted money but more importantly wasted space I could have invited friends who wanted to attend ggrr
Really is *not cool* to no-show at a wedding.
Thankfully, as we invited everyone to the whole thing anyway, for us it "just" meant wasting our money when someone didn't show up, it didn't mean anyone else couldn't attend...Just a cross on the Christmas card list and that was it0 -

I totally understand that but we are getting married in a zoo and only have free entry for 80 and the room we are in is a bit of a squeeze...oh well, they can always watch through the window I guess!0 -
Also if its costing you £400 you need to sharpen your skills :money::money::money:0

I was wondering about that, too.
We attended a wedding about 200 miles away recently...
£40 petrol. B&B: 2x£60. Dinner on the Friday: £20. Drinks for the weekend: £60. Present: £30...Total: £270 ...we stayed two night and weren't really trying to save money...Could have easily done < £200 if we'd been bothered.
OH wore a dress she's had for a while, wasn't the end of the world...and I think it was about £30 new anyway...0 -
I can understand this if it's a 'public' venue like a church but is this still the case if the wedding is in a 'privately-booked' venue such as a hotel or historic building? When my sister married in Rockingham Castle all the ceremony seats were allocated to named, invited guests also, IIRC.
(just being nosey)
Absolutely. The marriage is not legal unless the general public have been given the opportunity to object.
That's why banns are read and notice given. If someone wants to object they can't be kept out because of not being invited!!Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.

You mean you can't just not invite anyone that might object?0 -
To the previous poster who has mentioned it cost £400 to attend a wedding....sorry if I sound negative but it was presumably your choice to accept the invite and you chose to spend the money on attending the wedding....Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
