Exactly the same thing happened to me. See my thread, it has a lot of useful info:

Just for your information, the payment was reversed two days later. Luckily I hadn't dispatched it by then.

I have just looked at this and that message is near enough exactly the same as I received!

This is the message I got:

"hi just paid by paypal. when can i expect it to arrive? dont forget to send it recorded for our security. this is high value item and i dont want to lose it. please do not include any invoice as it is a bday present"

So probably best not to send it then?!

    Why quote me?

    Why not?

it's an option available to to use.

You refer to a problem that at this point is non existent.

Ebay has it's ups and downs but for you and the op, if you cant stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen!

Op have you ebayed much before. It's not for everyone. But if you want to suceed at it, the last thing you should be doing is P*ss buyers around.

You are so negative that I'm begininning to wonder if this whole senario is a wind up.

Your message is exactly to the word the same as I received when i sold a boxed/new PS3 back in April - sold to a buyer who had zero feedback who paid with Paypal. I did some digging based in the email address provided and it seemed legit so I despatched by Special Delivery - heard nothing since and it was signed for by a name matching the buyer so happy enough.

Just out of interest where in the country are you being asked to send it ?

    Peterborough

Yes I am negative, its an expensive item!

I wouldn't send it and I would report the buyer to ebay, saying the exact same message has come from several different accounts with 0 feedback.

I wouldn't risk it based on my experience and the whole thing seems dodgy from the message, to the buyer feedback etc. but it's up to the OP. Just my opinion.
