Payment Dilemma

Hi All,

I wasn't sure where to post this so hope this is the right place.

I have a bit of a dilemma and I could do with some advice.

4 weeks I ago I ordered an expensive item from a large online company in Germany, I had some issues with the payment due to the large amount but I phoned the bank and they cleared the payment. I was sent another link to make the payment and emailed the company once I had done this and received one back confirming everything had gone through as it should and the item was despatched.

I received the item 3 weeks ago but upon checking my credit card statement they still have not taken the payment from my credit card.
I am now in a moral dilemma, should I email the company to tell them the payment hasn’t gone through yet or just wait for them to contact me?

Thanks in advance

it's early days, give it time. You will be charged soon I suspect. You are of course free to email them if it's bothering you.

    Thanks,

Thats what my wife says, however I find it odd as the t&c's on the website state they will not despatch until payment has cleared. She has also told me to stop worrying about it and it is their mistake not mine.

They have up to 6 years to claim the money...so 3 weeks is nothing!

    Really??

I have no intention of spending the money as i'm sure it will come out eventually but I thought it was somwething like 6 months.

No it's 6 years as stated. Depends if you want this hanging over you for that long. What is the moral dilemma? Wether you have any or not?

Yes really. I you noticed 6 months after this they had taken the money twice would you say 'fair enough'? my mistake?

In a nutshell, yes do I keep stum and wait for them to contact me or get in touch with them first and highlight the error. They are bound to clock it soon enough anyway due to the amount.

So are you hoping to get away with not paying? Again, if you noticed 6 months later they had taken the money twice would you let it go?

So you thought they had 6 months or something and you had how long? I suspect you wont contact them.
