Large Gas Bill HELP PLEASE!!
Comments

No no no:(. Energy is not sold by the pound, it is sold by the meter reading. Stop quoting £££s. That tells us nothing about the billing accuracy.
The meter readings are converted into £££'s i am telling you how much i am being charged for the readings i have given them.
3.446p per kWh0 -

Why did you bother asking for help.0 -
because i would like your views on if you think the bills are too high for the summer months i am new to all of this, and i feel i am being wrongfully charged somewhere down the line. there is no way 2 people who are out most of the day at work, are using this much energy in a single month.
unless my partner secretly owns EDF and is using me to better her company?!?!!?0 -

sorry, like i said i am new to all of this.
electric standing charge = 14.00p per day
gas standing charge = 22.00p per day
when you say primary charge do you mean price per kWh?
if so this is electric = 11.32p
gas = 3.446p0 -
What was the reading in april when you moved in? so far you have only quoted 23rd May & Present...
What tariff have they put you on that could also be affecting
Have they correctly recorded if meter imperial \ metric...0 -
Stu,
i am on the EDF blue price promise sept2013
which is
electric = 11.32p per kWh
gas = 3.446p per kWh
i mentioned the moving in reading above some where they are
gas - 6776
Elec - 5876
all the readings they have priced against are correct0 -

The readings are actual readings as i have submitted them. When you are paying £90 a month im guessing you are using less than this because in the winter months you'll use more and it will balance it self out.
My house is a 3 bed room well insulated house, only me and my partner live there and the heating has been turned off 90% of this billing time
EDF are saying i have used £150 per month for combined gas & elec in the summer months (so in winter i guess it will be higher than this)
Your gas reading was 6776 when you moved in in April and at the end of May it was 6780. So you only used 4 gas units in 2 months? I presume your final bill from BG was very small or you were in credit?
I think your closing/opening reading of 6780 was incorrect, being too low so you are now paying EDF for some of the gas you used whilst with BG.0 -

Looking at your usage you measured for 2 days it was about 1.6 units which could well be your normal summer usage.
I stick by my theory that the changeover reading was incorrect.0
