If you had £1,000,000?

I would move to a nice house in the country, nothing too remote, with a large garden, that would take care of £200000 on top of our present house.

Then I would buy a flat or house for my daughter, another £300000 gone.

I would give my son and family the same to buy a bigger house.

The remaining £200000 I would invest for income to top up our retirement income.

A million goes nowhere these days. My house is £800K no morgage. 1 rental property £300k investments £200k and i still shop at Asda!

option 1:
£800,000 buy 4 bed house in Blackheath/Greenwich
£20,000 furnish and decorate
£100,000 longterm investment
£80,000 deposits for 5 properties
£1mill spent (already!)

With sensible head on I would pay off my high interest debt and split the rest between high interest investment, bank accounts and deposits on property to let.Hopefully set it up so we can live off the profits.
With my other head on I would buy a bigger house(probably Georgian) with paddocks, a palomino(sp) and call him Amulet,2 King Charles spaniels(one black & white and one liver & white).I would have peacocks in my garden.A gardener, a cleaner and a part-time driver.I would split my spare time between tending my organic kitchen garden and my topairy(sp).I would also need more than one million!
