Probably easiest to claim off your Allianz policy, sounds like your broker have put you in a credit hire car and possibly a claims management company for a credit repair.

    They get commission for this.

    Is your car legally drivable

Did a company ring you up about the hire car and explain to you how it works and ask you if your car is drivable ?

Was the company called Helphire or Drive Assist?

Is the hire car provided by the garage Allianz have taken the car to be repaired at and is it there now?

What DAS have done is provide a "Credit Hire" (Google it) and a "Credit Repair".

What these are in effect you sign a credit agreement which means in the event they cannot recover the costs within 53 weeks then you pay the costs. However some providers offer a waiver that unless you have miss led them or don't assist them then they will shoulder the costs should they not recover them.

Credit hire vehicles are between two and three times more expensive than a normal hire car and have a significant effect on the increases we are experiencing on our car insurance.

Keep an eye on the garage repairing the car as they often delay the repairs so the credit hire company get more hire car costs.

What car have they provided you with?

Dont worry OP, you havent done anything wrong and Dacouch knows his stuff so be guided by him.

It is upsetting, Its been done to me twice but was pretty straightforward.
I claimed directly from the other parties insurance, there was no problem with that because they accepted laibility straightaway. There wasnt any police or false details involved and mine was sorted in about 10 days each time.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

they have given me a ford focus and my car is a mitsubishi estate. The other problem is that we were supposed to be going away on the 21st but cant go now as i cant put my dogs in a hire car so its another prob the op has caused by his dishonesty. I appreciate your advise. So is it possible for DAS to claim off the op ins although the driver is unisured and unlicesed and do you think they will try that as im worried that the op ins wont pay now. Oh the stresses of life eh?
