Think we'll be ok there, By rallie i think it means racing rallies. This is merely a group of friends driving around the country:A.

    Not necessarily.

The annual London to Brighton run is classed as a "rally", but it isn't, and never has been a race.

Lots of great places around the lake district and some real hills to cover off.

A treasure hunt might be a good move. Think of things the different teams have to 'collect' en-route and simply provide a few waymarkers with a final destination. so in the lakes you could say "something beatrix potter related" and see what they come up with.

    5t.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?

But be careful what you ask them to collect.

I heard of one treasure hunt, that asked them to collect a telephone.

Most of the phone boxes in the area ended up with the receivers missing.

Love the treasure hunt idea, obviously item should be area/location based

Lakes is a good one for us, probably only an hour away and lots of rolling countryside, could also bode well for coming down and across the yorkshire moors potentially going through to york raceway. I like it! Thank you!

    Any other good driving hotspots?!

Oooo, an idea, 1 point for every traffic cone collected. We could single handedly clear up the roadworks in the northwest!

Your challenge could be to turn the cars into aeroplanes and fly them to Belgium! He he he.

Or, have you considered a "GEOCACHING CHALLENGE"? Look it up, it's great!

Geocaching, why didnt i think of that!!! Was thinking of having checkpoints and just meeting up there, now we can have lots of POI's that you tag if you fancy a visit, points for how many you visit.

Also a good way of making sure people 'check in' and don skip any points!

An excellent idea! I'd love to do something like that with my mates.

As for areas, I'd have to second the Lakes, purely for more interesting driving routes - theres a road near Langdale Pike with what feels like a 1:1 hill on it, its a ridiculous almost vertical climb with lots of hairpins, could be a recipe for a challenge in a sub £300 car....:rotfl:

You could run a sort of circular route through the Lake District and camp each night somewhere, should be bags of decent places.

Only thing I'd suggest is make sure you have breakdown cover! Don't want to get stranded on a mountain when your banger inevitably kersplodes...
