Travellin to Asia with my Dad

My dad and I went to travel to somewhere in Japan or South Korea for about a weeks stay. I have never left the UK before and have zero travel experience. My dad has travelled to Spain, Hollad, Pakistan and United Arab Emirates over the years.
We haven't got a date of when we want to travel but again, we aren't too fussed (but sometime this year), we just want to save money. We're looking for return flights for 2 adults with included hotel and possibly a stop in Dubai for a short time. We're looking to save money and possibly earn some cashback on Quidco too. If possible, it would be great to bring my younger brother of 9 years old with us, but if that raises the price too much, then it's just me and my dad.
Can anyone help? Typing in cheap flights into Google brings back many websites, but I've no idea what I am doing.

If you want to stop in Dubai, fly with Emirates.
If you want to save money....

So around £450. Around a £150 per person saving on the viable alternatives. You decide.
See this thread for guidance.
Check in for the Alitalia flight before you leave, as there is only 1 hour and 50 minutes between the flights.0 -
Thanks, that looks good but I found a cheaper one but I am not sure if there are hidden costs in this, could you take a look?

I don't know what your budget is but a trip to Japan ain't cheap really. Here's a nice cheap flight out there, http://soc.li/wu7XBTW . You only get a 20Kg baggage allowance though. Then if you get a flight out to Dubai 10 days later you get 10 days in Tokyo and then you could have another 4 or so in Dubai before returning. Here's a flight to Dubai (on an A380, exciting!) http://soc.li/okeLblX and here's a flight home again http://soc.li/UiIiAQg . Unfortuneately flying cheap means many conections. For hotels for your stays try https://www.ryanairhotels.com . For transfers from the Airport to you hotels try https://www.resorthoppa.com . Good luck with your travels.0

The check in before thing means check in for both flights online at home and print your boarding passes yourself
If you want a nice simple return you could have this for £580 p/p http://soc.li/6j9EYbM0 -

That's a long way to travel just for a week's holiday, and you won't see a lot of Japan in a week, I went for 2 weeks and barely scratched the surface. If a week is all you can do you might be better considering somewhere a bit closer, especially for your first trip outside the UK (a 12 hour flight isn't the best place to discover you're not keen on flying!).0

you need to confirm your budget and work from that. Japan/Korea is a very long way to go for a week with jet lag to contend with too. We did SE Asia but for 3 weeks which was a good amount of time.
For the flights I would reckon £550-£600 each is expected, anything less is a bargain0 -
Agree with above, a firm but realistic budget is required0

Please take it.It's your money. Except if it's the governments.0 -
Ok thanks all very much. I will consider flying somewhere closer but I may still want to visit Japan. Any ideas? I want to bring my DSLR and take some shots (I'm learning Photography) so a place with good sights would be good!0
