Pizza Hut Rip Off...

I am away on business at the moment, and I am staying in a local premier inn, next to me is a Pizza Hut so after checking in I assumed it would be pretty cheap for me to grap some pizza from pizza hut.

I was on my own, and ordered a half and half pizza.

When it came it was huge...

and the bill was even bigger.

£17 for a drink & a pizza!

What I realised is because I hadnt specified a size they had automatically given me a large. Not even an option, no common sense what so ever.

Do I have any rights here, or just the right to complain?

Surely the menu gives sizes and prices? I feel like you have only yourself to blame, for not being specific when ordering.
  • Theres like a set price for each pizza. Half of one was 6 something, and half of another was 7 something...

So you knew the pizza would be £13 ? Are you just wanting to complain abut the size then ? Seems a bit odd ?

IIRC The Half/Half pizza only comes in large size.

Should you not have complained there and then?

I think the only blame here is with you

    1) You never ordered what size pizza you wanted.
    2) When the pizza arrived you never queried the fact a large pizza had turned up (if it was me alarm bells would have started ringing)
    3) When the bill turned up you paid it.

The lack of common sense seems to be coming from you not Pizza hut!
  • No I didnt know the price until I got the recept, I expected it to be like £12 including the drink.

She never said it comes in a large size, being there was just me I thought she could have mentioned maybe.

why did you expect it to be £12 though - half of one £7+ half of the other £6+ then add the drink -

Why should she question what you ordered?

It's a difficult one, that. Some customers would take it as an insult, or the waitress implying the customer is greedy or something.

And, as you were there on your own she may have thought you were a mystery shopper:eek:

Anyway, hang on to your receipt and claim it on expenses - do you get a subsistence allowance?

How was she to know the pizza was just for yourself? You could have been buying it to share with someone.
I assume the prices were displayed in the store.
