Hugs to Sammy_Kaye18 and Lamewolf - good to hear Mr LW is well enough to fire up the computer. I didn't know greengage jam had healing qualities, but I'm going to try it next time OH is under the weather. It's probably only your homemade version that works though.
The picture rails in the sitting room and dining room are looking a lot better except where the TV will have to be moved first, but rather sadly for me, cleaning them has revealed the grubby state of the bit of wall above them. So that's another job that needs to be done, darn it. (The dresser shelves didn't get done either, as I realised I hadn't turned out the drawers during the big kitchen clean, so that's another job for the wretched list.)
I've decided the only way to tackle my 'room of doom' is to start on Monday by putting 10 things away a day. This means sorting through the stacks of gibble which are only there because - I don't know where to put the stuff. I have seven big storage boxes of stuff that has been sorted but still needs to be rehomed somewhere in the house, and copious other piles of unsorted crud that has never even made it into the boxes. The desk is awash with useful clutter, and both the Filing and In Trays are overflowing. If 10 things per day were dealt with properly, I'd get somewhere by the end of the week.
The last time the bottom of the In Tray got a bit of fresh air for longer than a nanoseond was at the end of my first year of university (very mature student) and that was the summer of 2003. :eek:Better is good enough.0 -
Hi
On the second leg of my hols now so I have some internet. I had some bad news yesterday as my auntie died - she was only 51. Hope everyone's keeping well - I gather Mr LW has been ill so LW has been using lots of spoons and been very brave.
I wonder if Bonnie's anywhere near me as I'm in Wales.
Have a good time everyone
Hugs

((Hugs)) to juliejim, congratulations to Lame Wolf on your mega-stores and I hope Mr LW is beginning to feel better.
I spent this morning clearing the study and can now see my desk. I also did a bit of gardening, cutting back the iris and pulling out the old forget-me-nots. Strill a lot to do in the garden, but it's a start. At my suggestion DH edged the front lawn (having cut all the lawns yesterday) and swept all the loose bark off the drive and back onto the border.
:-)
This afternoon I suddenly decided that my RoD was my oven! It's only a year old but has never been properly cleaned - I didn't use it very much at first, but recently I seem to be doing more roast meals (better for us than frying) and baking (not so good for the waistline!), and when I took a closer-than-normal look I realised how very dirty it was. Fortunately it has a catalytic coating on the walls, but it took me half an hour to clean the muck off the floor of the oven and I've left the shelves and tray in soak while I do our evening meal. It will shine before bedtime.
As I was scrubbing away at the shelves for all I was worth, my mind took me back nearly 39 years to the day before DS1 was born. I woke up at 4.30 am with mild contractions and went downstairs and cleaned the cooker from top to bottom - it did the trick because I was in the maternity home by 6.30 pm! I hope my efforts today are a good omen for DS1 and DDiL: their baby is now 3 days past due date and I'm longing to cuddle my new grandchild!!!0 -
I've spent the day packing - its so boring that I do it in chunks lol
We're away for a week so see you all then
Glad Mr LW is feeling better - please eat properly LW otherwise you'll be ill too - hugs

Mr LW is still very tired, but he's eaten some more toast and jam today (he'll look like greengage jam before long!!) and he's actually fired up his 'puter to check his emails for the first time since he was taken ill. I take this as a good sign.
As Him Indoors is also surgically attached to a computer, I also take this to be a Good Sign:D Healing vibes to the Wolfie household, rough week for both of you...‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

OK OK so I didn't bathe the dogs or do the weeding. I sat in the sun for the afternoon instead with DD. Have just finished tea, but am leaving the washing up till the morning as I'm just settling down to watch a live stream of the York Mystery Plays. Probably means I won't get in the gym either.
Tomorrow's jobs:
Big monthly shop (but not as big as usual as I need to cut back)
Bathe dogs
Walk dogs
DO THE WEEDING
Spend time in the garden with DHSpend less now, work less later.0 -
