I suggested Remploy but I don't think Phil wants to take advice or help himself.

You need to get to the Job Centre and enquire about their Disability Officer.

Ask about a referral to Shaw Trust

    Ask about working for Remploy

Take a look at the Job Centre Website

You may not get the first job you apply for - most people don't.

What do you expect to do with "philosophy" in the real world?

I know that I won't get the first job I applied for because I have been rejected twice.

real world with my degree anything I can. I will probably find support jobs are all I can get at the moment but I do not mind if that is in a library to IT.

I have heard of reemply but I thought they were more for people with serious disabilities and more learning difficulties at that.

What's with thought? Check it out! The guy I told you about that works with me has CP & got work through them, as did a guy who's left now who had mental health problems. On one hand you say you thought they were only for serious disability, as if yours isn't, but then you make out yours IS. If yours isn't serious, what's the problemmmmmmmmmmm

It is not serious in the sense I can feed myself, look after myself, talk, write, walk. My biggest danger anywhere is falling and especially on steps.

I will look into them and going to the job centre to see what they say.

Is it best to go to the main job centre rather than the local one?

Why soooo many questions? Ring them up & ask. The main one might have more jobs but i'd think the local one could access the same jobs on their computer terminal thingys. Plus it's local for you. We have many many people at work with disability, one guy who i'm not sure if he's disabled but he walks with a limp & his foot turns inwards, one guy with CP who uses a wheelchair & if he's walking to his chair from the checkouts he needs a stick & can't really walk, his legs sort've twist, he has mobility problems with his arms too I think, he's abit slower. We had another woman who I think also had CP who couldn't speak clearly, several deaf colleagues, it goes on. NONE of them ever complain. You can as I keep saying work, your biggest disability is yourself.

Tigerlily, I will tell you one thing that my job hunting has shown me is there is a world of opportunity in jobs waiting for me to go and get and I need to exploit that.

I know you can do it, I know it ain't easy too, I used to panic so so much about getting work & interviews, i'm far from happy where I am now but only I can change it.

Why not look for a new job if you are not happy?

I intend too at some point, i'm more focusing on getting better, or at least to a point where I can be in work for more than a month without being off sick! They're within walking distance, very good with me being off more than there & the others who work there are like family. When i'm stable i'll be off though!
